Dupe_Noir Posted December 1, 2024 Share Posted December 1, 2024 I was trying to do playthrough with just bionic duplicants but it seems there is no way to get bionic dupe with Advanced Research skill. At the beginning of the game no matter how long I rolled, I could not get a bionic dupe with Research booster (which unlocks Super Computer and Geotuner). I started the game without it thinking I will just craft it later but Research booster is not listed in Soldering station. Am I missing something or is this intended? You can force a Bionic to sleep for 12 hours to get 2 microchips, or if you have more than 2 bionics, you can wait until after the first downtime. Use a crafting station to make "Research Booster" for 2 microchips, and install in a bionic, this will give +5 science, +2 Athletics and Supercomputer use. The "pod boosters", i.e the ones available for starter dupes, are a mix of soldering station / crafting station ones. Also, as far as I can tell only the "pod boosters" are the only ones available via care packages.
