kroban Posted November 29, 2024 Share Posted November 29, 2024 IMO, the "perk customization" already exists on the Woby training station itself, its a bit redundant to have it on the skill tree too. Considering how many tweaks Woby needs, and that tier 1 is already merged, I think that merging tier 2 on another single perk fits, simplifies and makes space for a couple more perks for Woby. Ideas for these are: -- "Woby treats" craft (or dish) to speed up her badges gains for a while + giving her food. Made from monster meat, non-perishable, and more efficient to use, this can be a huge QoL for the badge system, and for carrying food to make Woby big. A recipe exampe of this could be "2 monster meat + honey + bones", you get 3 pieces and each one fills for 25-30 hunger. Maybe also gives Walter a small 5 sanity each time he feeds Woby with this. - Bigger hunger bar. The current 2.5 days is bad, her speed starts diminishing after half a day, and since she "resets" so quickly, she requires too much monster meat. This is part of what makes her get outmatched by beefalos (even ornery) because once you have one theres pretty much 0 upkeep needed, or at worse some twigs. - Bigger inventory when she is big: Nothing too crazy, but the player could use those temporary extra slots to carry farmed stacks of items back to their base, for example. It can also work as a reward if the player can keep her big consistently. - Make her inventory accesible while mounted: It will make her more "unique" of a mount, beefalos dont have an inventory, big Woby on the other hand could, and it would be just making better use of something she already has. -- Woby can wear the Pioneer hat, and gives Walter the effects. Walter already treats her as part of "the scouts", so this would fit, keep the relevance for the hat, look cute, and Walter could wear head armor without sacrificing that buff. - Walter gains sanity when mounted on Big Woby. I think this would not be game breaking, Pudgy is a thing, and there are characters like Willow right now throwing 3 sanity stars together out of a couple bees. A diminishing effect could make this more balanced, and it would be a perk specially friendly for the "new Walters". I think it would be cool if they required bones, and looked like a bone(something like 3 monster meat and 1 bone shard for 2 treats 25 hunger each, maybe? dunno, maybe more meat spent and more hunger/treats gained, cause it could get a bit annoying to farm bones without an easy way to get lots of fish). I just like it thematically idk, plus would kinda make sense for it to be unperishible, cause bones don't spoil. idk I'm kinda reaching here, but I just like the idea of using bones. Bigger hunger bar would be really great! No notes. I think it would be cool if they required bones Yeah I agree, out of all these ideas I think this would even work the best for like a tier 3 or 4. Maybe monster meat + bones + honey, I know some dog treats use honey as ingredient so it fits, and it could also explain it lasting and filling more than just monster meat or whatever.
