Wendy‘s Pipspook and Gravestone skills (and new haunt skill?) need do some merge

Recommended Posts

Here's my propose:

  • 3 Pipspook Quest skills merge into 1 skill
  • Final Resting Place?  and  Gravestones By Wendy merge into 1 skill

then these two skill line merge into one:

                    ↗ Grave Beautification

Pipspook

                    ↘ Replace and Crafting Graves

And there the explain:

Pipspook 1 increase the probability of Pipspook spawns, and toy spawns closer when do the quest.

This is a liitle bit coincide with Replace and Craft gravestones, as you can make more graves to get more Pipspooks, and place them in better places to make the toy spawn closer, such as hermit island, on boat, dock, or at least the land and ocean edge.

Pipspook 2 Increase the number of toys, Pipspook 3 Double the amount of Mourning Glory you get for each toy. These two skills already coincide for only earn more mourning glory. And numerically, the former skill allows you to earn three more mourning glory per quest, while the latter skill allows you to earn more than ten extra mourning glory per quest, making the former skill quite insignificant.

Although Mourning Glory is certainly useful, I really don't think it's worth a whole three skills, to augment their numbers in different ways.

Final Resting Place?  and  Gravestones, there is no difference between these two skills at all unless you need more gravestones than the world generates (that's a lot of them), or need some reskin sign.

Edit for new haunt skill:

Well, we just got that new Haunt Skill, but there is a liitle confused: Wendy already has a scare skill.

For those of you who don't know, "Scare" mechanism is totally part of "Haunt" mechanism. When you Haunt a mob (if it's scrae able), you have a 100% chance of triggering its panic - that's the main feature of Haunt, then secondary is those interesting gadget effects for some specific objects.

There seems to be quite a bit of coincide between these two skills, maybe it should be merge into a "AOE Haunt" skill.

I think Pipspooks could stay with they are, they're filler/stat skills, but Wendy's skill tree has had most of its filler removed, so it's not the end of the world.

That said yes the grave skills need to be merged for exactly the reason you said. Creating new gravestones is nice QOL, but it doesn't provide a lot of benefit.

The skill line was also significantly weakened by the loss of the dark petals skills, which added value to a reliable source of dark petals.

Rather than merging them with Pipspooks though, I'd say make the new tier three build on the "sacred ground/safe space" concept they were going with by having decorated gravestones provide, light, sanity, protection from wildfires, etc.

just make pipspook skills Wendy's initial perk, remove them from the skill tree and call this a QOL change.

Resource-accessing filler skills always risk being abandoned by resetting the skill tree after farming enough items.

Abigail's Terror is instant and AOE. Abigail's haunt requires her to stop attacking from a period of time, and can only target one enemy at a time. There's technically overlap but not really.

That right, so I hope they become an "Instant AOE Haunt."

Most of the time the player doesn't use haunt in combat, so it doesn't make much sense for Abigail stop attacking when haunt.

This would also fill the need that there is no aoe haunt in the game and be some unique interesting perk for Wendy

Meh. My issue is that is it would have to be a direct upgrade over Team Spirit IV. Which would make it ANOTHER 4 tier skill line in Wendy's tree (she already has 2, and unlike Wolfgang they're more than stat buffs.). She's already an insight Hog (which is fair enough) but that would be getting ridiculous.

Oh, my idea is to actually remove the existing Team Spirit 3 and 4 and make this instant AOE haunt to the new Team Spirit 3 - it's actually a combination of these two features, so basically we wouldn't lose anything, just streamline the skilltree and save one skill point.
