All my looking at meanwhile outdated mods that made traps ATTACK players sadly failed.

I would really want to use them against other characters in pvp (or non-pvp :3 In general I want traps to be an actual danger when you step on them. I will probably find out myself how to not make it attack Maxwell. But for now it should be important for the traps to trigger players in GENERAL) All attempts to use the outdated mods from below or using their approach to edit the mine component and onexplode of the trap_teeth sadly caused either no change or KILLED the entire server world.

The mods I had been looking at were this one https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=385650867 (sadly either broken by now or incompatible with my Maxwell)

and this one: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=404161345 (was not reliably assigning ownership to traps)

If anyone has an approach or a mod that could work, you're getting an imaginary teleportato Maxwell-laugh as reward because you would have got my mod / gameplay idea a step closer to its original pvp idea :love_heart:

Alternative: Since "maxwell tooth traps" can still be spawned into a world (it just seems I can't actually trigger them), is there a way to make them /functional/ again? Cause it would be an even better workaround to give this item its old use again, since it can still be found in the files.

Hmm, I'd love it if the "Maxwell's tooth traps" could be made functional in this setting! Getting some of those Adventure Mode vibes in DST! But I have no idea how to make that happen, unfortunately... ^^"

The mystery is solved!

The maxwell tooth traps have been working ALL THE TIME. My Maxwell was just not triggering them properly with his long legs :D

I just found out by making him push a prop-Wilson over the trap and it worked perfectly fine. :wilson_livid:

(it also works perfectly fine if Maxwell stops to stand RIGHT OVER them or at sometimes when he walks over them in the right distance. Which means I have accidently given him an in-built "particial immunity" against his own traps that comes in handy now :D )

So now the regular tooth traps aren't important anymore, but if anyone has an idea how to make them aggressive towards my MAXWELL I would be happy. So the other characters can set traps for him in return. (though I suppose he will also have the "carefully making a big step" with his long legs ability at random as well. But it would be fun if they could pose a /potential/ thread for him in return.)

( Funny side effect: I just made the maxwell tooth traps craftable for maxwell and forgot they don't have an inventory component which means he placed them right under his feet: )
