Dropped Soul Jars as a Soul Fountain

Recommended Posts

First off, I want to preface this by saying that I absolutely LOVE Wortox's skill tree. It's got everything the character needed to become mechanically interesting and enjoyable. I don't really think it NEEDS anything more (though I am excited for the changes to the Naughty or Nice mechanics) but I think this suggestion might be a fun way to add an extra dimension to an existing item.

You know how Soul Jars leak souls if left on the ground? What if those souls dropped as a collectible (same as when a creature is killed) so nearby players can heal if there's no Wortox nearby, or so that the souls can be used for extra damage via Soul Pierce? I think it would lead to an interesting new way to use the Soul Jars in combat as "sentries" by stockpiling a large amount of souls for use in long fights as long as care is taken not to overload. This perk could be added as a new skill tree perk, though I'm not sure how it could be fit in, considering his skill tree is already well-structured and full of unique perks.

I think the mechanics of the rate of souls leaking would need to be changed and maybe an additional mechanic or two would be needed to make them useful. For example, in their current state they're very vulnerable to destruction from large creatures like Bearger or Celestial Champion, since they can be hammered. I think that hammering them while they contain souls should drop a few souls instead of breaking the Jar, only breaking it when it's completely empty.

Apparently hammering the soul jars already does this? But I'm not against this either.

Hammering the soul jars does leak 4-6 souls, but it'll break in 3 hammer hits. Plus, bosses break it instantly regardless. I'd like it so that the jar doesn't break until it's hit while totally empty.

i brought something like this a few days ago, but your idea with having them work in conjunction with soul pierce is even better. leaks doing something meaningful would be a nice touch since naughty alignment already drops normal soul healing and if it is supposed to be less healing oriented, then the extra damage consistent use of soul pierce would be amazing
