Wes can summon unlimited amount of balloons. Minions only deal single target damage. Balloons deal AOE damage (character have AOE = instant OP). Minion cost 30 max sanity, 1/5 of night mare fuel. Balloons cost 5 normal sanity, no additional cost. Now compare Maxwell to smol Wolfgang: 6 minions can deal 7x damages. 7x > 2x.
