I love klei's communication

Recommended Posts

Leaving comments about what they see as the current priorities for changes is amazing communication from klei

It:

-lets us know what they're thinking, so wr know more changes are planned (soothes anxieties)

-silences complaints about those issues specifically, allowing them to recieve a better variety of feedback over the weekend. People may make suggestions regarding those issues, but nothing like what it was before their post.

- lets people post opinions about said topics and object if needed (not needed, but maybe it was a loud minority)

Its fantastic use of the forums, and exactly why i respect klei so much as a development team. Their communication is superb and they always listen to feedback (even if they disagree and do their own thing, they DO listen)

They did just try and release 3 skilltrees for the most controversial characters in the game, at the same time! Talk about taking the bull by its horns.

Absolute mad lads wouldn't be able to pull this off without communication.

Still abit salty they didn't use any of my Walter ideas.

Alas my creative genius goes to waste yet again! :wilson_angelic:

Yeah its amazing really, this level of communication from game devs is really rare, like I think the only devs I have seen paying this much attention to the community other than Klei are ConcernedApe (Stardew Valley) and No Man's Sky devs after that entire release mess. Its really cool that some random player like me can throw some ideas here and if its good enough it ends up getting added to the game, I have seen this happening in basically all updates

Terraria devs are on a different level of communication. Even Team Cherry is unparalleled in their communication techniques!

Yes communication is great, and apparently Steam seems to think so too because they’re now forcing developers to provide a full and complete list of what their Season Passes will contain and a brief description of each item in the pass.

Sure I guess that’s going to ruin the surprises of which fighter might becoming to Mortal Kombat or whatever… but honestly I always felt like if your going to ask for my money up front I should get a full run down on what to expect that money is going to be buying.

Also: Developers who do not adhere to these new rules, and fail to deliver the full contents of said passes (as we’ve seen many shady developers do where they’ll release a game, and season pass and then discontinue future content support for said game… *cough cough RedFall* Those who do NOT deliver the full contents can be in serious trouble.

If you’d like to read the article about that you can check it out here:

https://www.pcgamer.com/software/platforms/steam-has-changed-its-policy-on-dlc-content-and-season-passes-so-now-players-are-entitled-to-proper-compensation-if-future-plans-fall-through-customers-will-be-offered-a-refund-for-the-value-of-unreleased-dlc/#:~:text=Now%2C games must list all,and year are also acceptable.

in other words: Clear Communication is great and I’m glad we as fans, have that with Klei’s Dev Team when it comes to what they’re doing & why :wilson_love:

And for the other companies who didn’t provide clearer communications, I’m glad they’re now being forced into doing so Lmao.

I think they only did this because of Wendy to contain a massive backlash in the community.

This shows how powerful Wendy is and how weak Wilson and Wigfrid were at the time. :-D:-D

I must have missed where Maxwell. Warly, and Wes were getting skilltrees

Walter is the only one of these characters that I think you can argue is in the controversial category

Maxwell, warly and wes are not controversial at all. Maxwell is overrated, yeah he's very strong in skilled hands but so is wes? Warly has strengths locked behind grind.

None of these characters are underperforming or overperforming when considering the design characteristics of each.

Wendy is the most popular character, Walter is the most underrated character and wortox is the most forgotten character. These 3 are farrrrrrr more dramatic to discuss compared to Maxwell, wes and warly.

I did kinda get the vibe they did this due to the influx of "clearly the devs have never actually played this game" posts.

VERY welcome addition to the patch notes though.

Yeah yeah, go on and enjoy that your fave character didn't suffer as much as Wilson mains do after 5+ years, huh. Yeah, go ahead. We'll just remain sitting in our corner.

To be fair, Wilson actually CAN still cut out a significant chunk of the game with transmutation powers.

And as someone who plays almost exclusively alone, Cutting out the need to obtain a Deconstruction Staff or do the Moon Stone event by combining Gem Colors to obtain a multicolored Easter egg isnt “Nothing”

… it’s just not what you personally wanted from the character.

That Said- the torch skill tree is a complete joke and not worth picking up for any reason.

A one-time actual use, how fun. Yes, I do like the "multiple" (hah, yeah right :wilson_facepalm:) ways for getting resources but NOT the way how it was implemented. Like really, only ONE recipe and its reverse for most transmutes??? And also that stupid as hell 6 rot -> 1 poop???? Yeah, no thanks.

It’s only a one time use if your a MegaBaser who intends to permanently live in one game save file for the rest of all eternity.

But the more often you need to Redo this quest, the more you’ll appreciate being able to skip stages of it.

I am in complete agreement with you though, Wilson’s skill tree sucks.

Dude should’ve got something like Wurts Bombs but for science beaker chemicals or something.
