Thulecite Slingshot Upgrade

Recommended Posts

So I like that the thulecite slingshot is going to get special properties with magic to make a good alternative option worth considering vs the scrappy slingshot but I do feel like it should also be more of a in-between in terms of ammo slots for example if the scrappy has near infinite storage a good middle ground for the thulecite slingshot would be to have 200 rounds per slot or 300 in the primary slot and the usual 60 in the special slot.

Hmmm it's functionally 120 rounds in the thulecite slingshot atm. I think that would be enough. 60 of two different special rounds are plenty for daily use... I tend to carry ice rounds with me pre-beta and it does take a while to get through them in day to day use.

I can imagine a late game Walter is going to craft a second slingshot and carry both a scrappy slingshot for damage rounds and a thulecite slingshot for upgraded special rounds. Which sounds reasonable to me.

This only works if you plan to only use the thulecite slingshot as a special round tool but not for using it as a weapon is anything that needs more than 60 hits to kill is going to need you to reload mid fight like it always has and this is more of a issue for some considering not every reaches the end game so for a good deal of players this will be their only upgrade most of the time.

Klei aluded to boosting thulecite rounds with it. Which i can only imagine to be a damage buff like spawning several shadow tentacles instead of only one. 120 damage rounds using 51damage as minimum nets a total of 6120 damage before you need to reload. Not too far off a dark sword and this is without any special effects.

I think its ok. It is a long range weapon which breaks all traditional combat since the game is balanced around melee. Walter players are gonna be wrecking bosses left, right and centre after this beta drops due to how easy it is to use the slingshot now for all combat encounters.

Thing is traditional combat means very little these days and I do have a lot of complaints about that but inconveniencing one character on storage options isn't going to suddenly balance it.

If they give walter a separate storage equipment that works like a backpack that can be stored in your primary inventory like the polar ice bin then it would be ok.

They definitely need to add something to sort out pre-rift pellet storage that doesn't rely on woby because you can't access woby storage when mounted.
