Certainly. You could do something like Wendy does

-- inst.components.sanity:AddSanityAuraImmunity("ghost")

local function OnEquip(inst, owner)
    if owner.components.sanity ~= nil then
        owner.components.sanity:AddSanityAuraImmunity("monster")
    end
end

local function OnUnequip(inst, owner)
    if owner.components.sanity ~= nil then
        owner.components.sanity:RemoveSanityAuraImmunity("monster")
    end
end
