Hopelessness Mechanic

When a player or tamed Beefalo dies, or multiple structures (such as Alchemy Engines, Shadow Manipulators, Crock Pots) are destroyed by the environment/creatures within a player's vision, they will take a sanity hit (15) and lose sanity (6/minute) for a few minutes, which also prompts a miserable remark from the character. If the tamed Beefalo isn't the players, they won't suffer any sanity loss. This effect also occurs if you find the body of a dead player (not generated skeletons), but can only happen twice within an 8 minute timespan.

The sanity damage taken increases by -15 as the player suffers more tragedies, up to 60. The sanity damage taken lowers by 5 every day, until it is back at 15. Wortox, Maxwell, and (maybe) WX-78 take halved sanity damage from hopelessness, since they're not as emotionally vulnerable.

Maybe it's too late for a mechanic like this to be added to the game, but I feel like it would be more interesting at least, and add more interaction between players. It would at least be able to be disabled in the world settings, if it's overbearing or becomes something like Disease.

This man has a point.

it already feels horrible to have your property or belongings get destroyed one way or another, hell most people just rollback. There doesn't need to be more punishment
