Let’s help each other and grow the community!

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, how’s it going?

In one of my posts, I mentioned possibly doing live streams in the future—and that moment has finally arrived! I’m asking for your support to help grow the community through Nintendo Switch/console gaming.

I speak more Portuguese than English, but that’s something we can work on together to improve and expand our community! Just following helps a lot! And if there are spots open, come play with us! During the stream, I’ll always share the password.

Streams this month will be on even days, like the 14th, 16th, 18th…

I’ll keep posting the times on social media.

Tonight’s stream will be at 10:30 PM Brasília time (UTC-3).

I’m counting on your support to gain more recognition and grow our active gaming community!

I’m going to play as Maxwell, how about you?

Hey!

I had some urgent extra work and had to reschedule, but tomorrow I’m aiming for around 6:00 PM Brasília time (GMT-3).

I’ll post it in my Twitch stories—if you can join and play with us, you’re more than welcome!

At my main job, I work night shifts on a 12/36 schedule—one night on, one night off—from 7 PM to 7 AM.

On my nights off, I stream at 10:30 PM (GMT-3). If I have extra shifts, I stream at 2:30 PM (GMT-3), but I always give a heads-up.

I'm always down to help build a community and have already followed hoping to catch a stream. That said, the Switch is definitely the hardest platform to have a good Don't Starve group on. The lack of voice chat and only having up to 4 players in a world hinders the larger community vibe a bit.

Is Switch all you stream on? I feel like there has to be some special *something* that sets it apart from other worlds on Switch but still works with the limited capabilities.

What really broke me was a trip. My wife has a grandmother, 93 years old, with several post-stroke complications… and no one ever takes her out because she can’t talk or walk. So we decided to spend a few days traveling with her.

Right after that, today I’m completing seven straight night shifts at my main job, on top of the routine I have at home with my father, who has Alzheimer’s. It’s been an insane rush.

Even so, I still managed to play with the group. Things are going well; the group is growing. It used to be just me, and now we’re up to seven people. Little by little, we’re building something.

As for YouTube videos, I plan to start making them soon. I’m still learning how to use the capture card, and my PC is pretty weak. I’m saving up to buy something decent.

When it comes to console gaming, I feel nostalgic because you can’t use commands. It’s like experiencing the game as it was meant to be when I first started back in 2014 (I took a long break and came back this year). No health bars, no extras—just the game in its pure form, you know?

The lack of a chat feature makes me feel like Wes when I play any character on the console, haha. But honestly, the absence of chat on consoles might be a good thing. There’s just so much toxicity out there—haters are on another level. On PC, it’s hard to control that.

For now, I’m sticking to the Nintendo Switch. I plan to spend a lot of time on it, but at home, I also have a SNES, a Mega Drive 3, and so much more—all original, haha.

Soon, I plan to play Pico Park and other games too. Suggestions are always welcome. I think Pico Park will be even more fun when I start showing my face—it’s great to laugh or get frustrated together.

There’s definitely something unique about playing on a console, though. I can’t quite explain it either.

It's the most pure experience! I originally came up on Playstation for this game and made some WILD stuff that felt even better to make because it was all done LEGIT over thousands of hours and no cheats.

A few years back I made a little community on PSN around this world I used to run like a minimorpg. If you want to check it out for some ideas I'll leave it at the end. I think the worlds I would want to join the most or be a part of are doing the most interesting or something different with the game.

Edit; the towns thing won't work for Switch. It would be an unplayable laggy mess after the first 1000 days. I also don't stream or do content stuff so I'm just trying to live vicariously through OP and get something popping off.

Hey everyone, how’s it going?

Tonight at 10:30 PM GMT-3, we’ll be playing.

We’re wrapping up spring and heading into summer.

Here’s a simple plan if you’d like to join:

• Build a fridge at the oasis.

• Get ready to take down the Summer Boss.

• Complete the marble statues to summon the Shadow Boss (I usually make about 70 knights, one rook, and one bishop. It might cause some lag, so heads up, but there’s plenty of loot).

• Gather around 80 nitre to craft gunpowder.

• Either find a red gem in the caves or defeat the Dragonfly.

The goal is to craft the fire staff and take down the Shadow Boss.

Yes! There is, which is why there will be 2 groups with 40 gunpowder each. And this explains the boat: besides not mixing the three, we use 2 corners in a triangular shape to kill the horse.

It’s in Portuguese, but the important part is the images, and it’s very short.

The last difference is that I leave a piece of wood on the ground to burn, and then light the gunpowder.

This is because they increased the horse’s range.

As Maxwell, I rely on plenty of armor and shadow swords, as the drops are already incredible, leaving the Nightmare Fuel solely for powering the Códex Umbra.

The Fuelweaver’s heart will eventually (when the update arrives) have the mimic to craft the “living” axe.

Besides farming wood and other items, we can revive the Fuelweaver outside the portal. The Shadow Boss only needs to be dealt with once for a long time, making it quite manageable.

The biggest advantage of making the statues with marble is that the marble regenerates after the Shadow Boss appears. Stones, however, do not.
