The original text of the lines can be found in the source code of the game. (some of the lines in the code don't seem to actually appear in the game) According to this comment in the code: -- Generate the monster version so it's predictable and players can learn to -- decipher it. It seems that the game designers hoped that the player would decipher the lines.
