Why are there so many bugs recently?

Recommended Posts

Are you making too much or are you running out of money? Are you actively preparing for a major update, or are you planning to stop updating gradually and then completely? Otherwise, I really can't understand why so many bugs can be seen by users. Do you have no testers? Even if Tencent becomes a shareholder, you don’t have the funds to hire a tester? Is it really reasonable for you to treat players like this?

The Shadow Cowbell resurrection cd ended and exploded but it hasn't been fixed yet. What are you updating?

It's not having so many bugs

It's a game. And game coding have tons and tons of lines. Not everyone is that 100% attentive, and granted, everyone also suffers from this on a daily basis. Forgetting or accidentally erasing things are just that. It happens. As long as we tell them the problem, have good faith they're going to fix it.

DST has every of its entities interact with eachother and klei adds more every update which means the links increase exponentionally.

Quadratically, they increase at a rate of (n^2+n)/2

They increase quadratically.

Yes, I had to point that out.

I mean its not out of the ordinary for a game this old to have a bug or 2 when an update happens. They fixed the most recent big bug really quickly on pc. Most bugs for the game don't even make it into the main game and are killed in the betas.

Brah that reeks of arrogance, you think Klei or any other company loves bugs in their games or what? Bugs are never intentional, even less so if we are talking about relatively small companies. Bugs cant be easily fixed by tweaking X variable or that you can "just put more testers bro"

Take this update for example, sure there were some horrible bugs related to beefalos, but we got 2 new items all related to rifts, at the same time related to an entity that hasnt had any type of update for the past 4 years, and those 2 new items came with completely new mechanics that they can't just "copy paste" from other entities. Of course there were going to be some bugs.

One of the bugs I have found in this update had to do with baby beefalos "corpse" crashing the game, probably because of the new "beefalo corpse" mechanic from the bell also affecting their babies in an unintentional way. I reported said bug on the forum and it got fixed after like, 2 days. Same happened with other 2 bugs I reported from previous updates. If anything that speaks well about Klei, they do care about fixing bugs as soon as possible, not every company is like that, like, just look at Ubisoft lmao.
