Add The WorldGen Option To Change Or Disable Aporkalypse

Recommended Posts

I know it was considered to add a setting in world generation to change or disable the Aporkalypse, but it was never implemented. I like the whole Aporkalypse concept, and I enjoy it when it happens and ends on it's own after you stop it for the first time. But after stopping it the first dozen times, it really just hurts the experience when you want to jump into a new game in Hamlet and just get down to business with exploring and building. It just becomes this obligatory busy work you have to go do, and then periodically go and check on the clock like it's some janitorial task. I know PC players just use console commands to skip the Aporkalypse, but the console and mobile versions don't have that luxury. I think it would significantly improve the game if you could just toggle or customize the Aporkalypse. It's a fun little adventure the first few times, but after you've stopped it a dozen times and know how to do it, it just becomes this unpleasant busywork you have to periodically deal with so you can actually enjoy the rest of Hamlet.

I honestly only start Hamlet worlds now with a character travelling there with the Skyworthy and equipped with everything I need to just rush through and reach the clock on Day 1. It's a cool challenge and concept, but it just gets old and really takes away from the overall experience.

You should look up a guide on how to quickly reach the Aporkalypse clock and turn it back. That way you don't need to abandon your linked Hamlet world. It's a straightforward process if you bring the stuff you need like a miner hat, torch, gunpowder, machete, and other stuff. That's the best way to deal with it and enjoy Hamlet. Use the Skyworthy to travel to Hanlet with a character that already has all the equipment you need. You can also change Hamlet world settings to negate some of the effects of the Aporkalypse. That's why they should just have the setting to alter or disable the Aporkalypse in the World setting. If people are finding ways to just minimize or avoid it, and PC players are just using console commands to disable it, it's obviously not a part of the game that is particularly enjoyed by players.
