Help Needed with Mods Not Downloading at all on Dedicated Server

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm new to setting up dedicated servers. I followed some guides on Steam and rented a server to get started. Everything seemed to be working fine at first, but I ran into an issue after adding mods.

I selected and added some mods ID to 'dedicated_server_mods_setup.lua' and our saved game from my local machine, but when we joined the server, it looks like none of the mod content is loading in the world. I'm not sure what went wrong. I've checked the content inside the 'mods' folder. It's empty.

I've attached the 'server_log' and 'dedicated_server_mods_setup' files. Could anyone help me figure out what's going on?

According to your description you've only set up the dedicated_server_mods_setup.lua, but not the modoverrides.lua files inside your save folders. (one for the master shard, one of the caves shard.)

You can check out my old guide on installing mods under "Enabling your mods".

At some point Klei added another folder for mods called ugc_mods, which saves the mods according to the shard they've been used in. (Mods have to be enabled in the modoverrides.lua before the server can save them there.) I have no idea when mods get saved there instead of the mods directory.

Hi thanks for responding. Actually, I uploaded our save from my PC to the server with 'modoverrides.lua' inside in both 'Master' and 'Caves' folders. But, the mods still can not be downloaded at all. Here are the server log, 'modoverrides.lua', and 'dedicated_server_mods_setup.lua'. I don't know what parts I missed.
