If ruins won't get fixed or adjusted to be more appropriate sized, have admins this thing:

A button to regenerate shard within a certain amount of time as an option. When we're not content with caves or surface generation but we want to keep our item progress or things even we built on another shard - one shard regeneration is the minimum you could do for those that either don't have access to commands in Consoles or those that don't want to look for this command by just Googling and looking for it:

TheGlobalInstance:DoTaskInTime(60, function() c_regenerateshard(true) end)

This command (credit to Electroely) gives 60 seconds to regenerate a shard and escape without losing character daycount, resetting character or items you might carrying. It's enough time to run out of caves and enough time to regenerate quick enough.

It's kinda like how singleplayer caves are now. Drop a seed of ruin and it all changes. Only for this that caves already have renewable things, but shapes sizes of the generation might be less than appealing to do this anyway.
