Clarity on how the thralls are meant to spawn

Once the rift opens, going next to the outcrop is meant to spawn the shadow trio yes?

Seems to be some issues with it as it isn't spawning anything and the ruins is in full swing with acid rain, rabbid spiders and really fast worms, you know the works. (p.s. are the large worms meant to be accelerated as a result of acid rain or will they be buffed in other ways?)
