Do you guys remember Wagstaff's notes?

Recommended Posts

The new update, looking at the format, aims to add new rifts shadows and (possibly) a new rifts boss in the form of shadow chess and 2 parallel bosses like a huge worm or rabbit king. In the last real update of the lunar rifts, a Wagstaff note was added in which possible candidates for transformation were mentioned. Do you think we will get moon mobs in this or the next update as well, or not?

OK sorry for asking, but I have been gone from DST for so many years that I impossible can know by myself, but that's cool that there are Wagstaff notes in the game! I would like to know where those can be found, cause I would adore to read them.

Ладно, извините, что спрашиваю, но я ушел из DST столько лет назад, что сам не могу знать, но это круто, что в игре есть заметки Wagstaff! Я хотел бы знать, где их можно найти, потому что я бы с удовольствием их прочитал.

They are located at his small station in a Junk Yard during lunar rifts, or in any other place if a Scrappy werepig lves in it

They’re late game stuff, after you open rifts, you can toggle rifts to on in settings to do the content without having to do the annoying boss fights but honestly???

Klei has locked so much really cool stuff behind these moon/shadow rifts that a lot of could’ve really made “before rifts” more fun too..

and characters with skill trees like Winona and the invisible storage caches just make me feel like this type of stuff should be more early game then it currently is.

Oh no D: This means I am very likely to not find them any time soon since I avoid scrappy werepig like most other combat mobs. ( I have the rift unabled from day one though.) Looks like I will put this on my "doing this somewhere in far future" DST checklist.

в заметках упоминается "hound", мы собираемся переработать дизайн для мутации? Или речь шла только о мутации варга.

There is not only a hound, but also a couple of other mobs that were in the game before, but mutated

So in theory I could access the Wagstaff notes already by having the rifts on by day one (thanks to you telling me it's possible btw. Still making the game WAY more fun this way!)

I mean....I just adore Wagstaff's scientific's nature, that's why I want to read his explorations that's all lol.

Apart from that I am not very much involved in the lategame / earlygame thing, since by avoiding combat I probably already miss 90% of the entire DST game in the first place (I am busy enough dying from literally everything so I don't need combat to have fun :3 ) But I see why you are annoyed by content being locked behind. I personally also am not a fan of "lategame" exclusive content.

To be fair, some of the late game stuff isn’t entirely based on raid bosses.. like for example there’s an underground archives that has these sleeping robotic worms in it, they will wake up once you solve the underground puzzle, but.. they are “husks” that only animate to life if the little ball of light seeks out a husk to take over.

Ive found that trying to actually fight these is pretty pointless, as they just collapse to a “husk” and when the ball of light travels back through the area, it’ll just bring it back to life again.

These Robot Senteypedes are pretty cool, provided that you try to sneak past them and avoid the ball of light (which if you alert seeks out a husk) it’s a moment of stealth in a game that is otherwise mostly just about smacking boss monsters in the face.

People seem to forget that items like the bush hat exists..

Turning on Rifts is also opting to crank non-optional combat up to 11..

so it’s a double edged sword.

Prior to Rifts, you could for example just ignore a spider Queen and it will eventually dig itself into the ground and revert back to a stage one spider nest.

While combat is a core part of DST, there is also opportunity for passive play & stealth & making the mobs fight other mobs.
