HeatAndRun Posted August 23, 2024 Share Posted August 23, 2024 Now we have two more shadowplinth weapons which had synerge with the void cowl. This means we'll stick more frequently with the hat. The damage buff it offers is great, but quite harder to maintain constantly compared to brightshade weapon damage boost. also besides the weapons synerge, the void cowl is inferior compared to its lunar counterpart, brightshade helm. The helm not only gives boost to brightsmithy weapons, but also offers 3 more utilities - Immunity from Charlie, immunity from stormy weather, and immunity from small gestalts. While void cowl has no utility other than 10% shadow defence. It had acid rain immunity, but gone far before. For now the hat itself is just a football helmet with significantly more durability. So I suggest to give void cowl an immunity from Charlie, at least. Lore-wisely, the wearer of void cowl is more friendly to the shadow affinity. And the visual of void cowl itself is literally hiding the wearer themselves under the shadow of the hood, so why not give some proper utility to this end-game hat, too? Even a specific character with shadow affinity has this ability as a base kit from day 1, so it's not an extremely special or exclusive ability these days. Practically, it would greatly help spelunking around the caves, while not forcing the players to equip magiluminescence for combat around dark places. And the visual of void cowl itself is literally hiding the wearer themselves under the shadow of the hood, so why not give some proper utility to this end-game hat, too? It would greatly help spelunking around the caves. One step further would be to make all non-rift/non-pure horror infused shadow creatures passive to the players. Pretty much the Bone helm effect without causing you to go completely insane therefore you are still vulnerable to lunacy. I guess you would also need to change the void robe effect to something different cause its current perk of negating insanity auras would be pretty useless.
