It’s about time…

Finally, Klei has patched the void walking exploit in the beta. Honestly I was kinda getting annoyed seeing people think they are shadow Jesus or something.

Today is a great day, they finally decided to control their game with an iron fist by making people play the game the intended way and I’m all for it.

Yeah it's not that deep, sorry.

Cave update > new features implemented > removal of bug in the way of new features.

I asked my dog and they nodded; I think they get it too.

Starting a fire where there isn't one? Not very boyscouts of you though.

There’s literally nothing wrong with wanting absolute fairness for everyone. Me and everyone else who plays the game normally never have an issue with this it’s only people who actively cheat and exploit that do.

It's not "unfair" as that would mean it was something not easily accessible to everyone.

You just don't like it, and that's fine but call it what it is. And I have never void walked in my life, I just don't get upset by how others choose to move their pixels.

What I want to draw attention to specifically is that this isn't what you think it is. Klei just moves down a list and addresses things as priority demands, they've stated this before when void walking aboveground was removed in favor of the new ocean.

Pretending there was an intended community that was "targeted" is toxic to the forums.

And fyi  this doesn't remove voidwalking, and even above ground there was a way to bypass sinking into the ocean. People don't force exploits to be in the game, they just appear and they use them. They're as natural to a game as breathing is. Every new patch introduces a new way to circumvent mechanics.

What you're trying to push is "using exploits is morally incorrect and I want others to think so too".

It's important to make the distinction as that allows for an open conversation about implementing fun bugs and exploits into features when the intended mechanic is unfun or truly unfair. When a lot of people where exploiting ancient guardian it allows the developers to reflect on why where they doing that?

And do you know what the new bridge is a reflection on? Freaking void walking! Think on that for a second. They literally turned it into a feature.

There’s a whole beta forum for beta discussions.

I don't mind voidwalking getting patched since it really was the kind of bug that shouldn't be kept in, but dude, you have the absolute worst possible outlook on sandbox games and gaming in general.

It’s reaction bait and we fall for it every time.

There’s nothing wrong with this mindset however....

There’s everything wrong with intentionally antagonizing people.

Whereas void walking is a reflection on lazy explorer. You could literally already do the thing, as intended, for a cost.

im fine with voidwalking being gone, the more "cheese" and bugs get remove the more they have to admit that the intended way is tedious or too annoying to be interesting, now they have a reason to make the atrium easier to find some how rather than test all the big tentacles, what if the tentacle that leads to the atrium changes every ten days but the change is very clear even on the minimap?, depending on the season maybe?

I wonder how difficult it is to create an item to indicate the entrance to the Atrium (big tentacle).

they did it with ag i doubt it would be difficult to make an indicator for the atrium; this is klei were talking about

I know of someone who's retrofit wormhole to the lunar grotto crashes the game, so they were required to void walk to reach the archives. This update will lock them out of that area permanently.

Void walking should have never been patched, it's hard to do it unintentionally, all Klei is doing is removing options from people in a sandbox game. Why is it so hard to just let people play the game how they want to?

If this person plays on PC, then I guess they can use console commands to bypass that?

Sending a bug report with the crash may also help. Klei can't fix those things if they can't figure out what causes it. So the more details you can provide the better.
