Currently, I am combining all recent ideas which I found appealing to me to a list of all features that I wanted to contain in the mod. Some of the ideas which I will now listen are from others (my friends or this subpage). Now I am looking forward to get some other interesting QoL ideas which you want to have. Here is the list of the things that I want to add: - Multiple Research Focus (The idea came from him, thanks) I want to make it possible to select multiple researches, which should help when some researches can't be done (advanced research, materials science research and interstellar research). They need specific conditions which aren't always there. When you could select multiple research targets at the same time, it would still research your first selected research until the end but won't block others machines, which can happen when the research of one machine is done. With the new feature your duplicants would start researching the other target research and they would end the missing machine research of your previous research. - Note Menu / Notes on Buildings (The idea was from a friend of mine) Basically, you can add notes on one specific menu like a notepad or you can add them into your buildings directly. - Critter Overlay (The idea came from another guy, I don't find the topic sorry. Thank you for the idea) The critter overlays should provide information to you about all the critters which are in your sight. The overlay has many sub overlays (modes) or in one combined (in planning), it has a variety of color states which can indicate many factors. - The grooming overlay, where you can see which grooming state the critter has and in which direction the state moves - The age overlay, where you can see how old the critters are - The hunger overlay, where you can see if they are starving or if they are full - The satisfied overlay, where you can see if they are happy or feeling glum, etc. - An overlay to display if dreckos and other shearable critters are ready Another extra overlay is the Incubation overlay, this will be always on when you activate the critter overlay there you can see how long does an egg need until it starts to hatch. - Multiple Filters I want to let you choose multiple filters in liquid and gas filters. - Critter Combining Critters can be produce a lot of lags when you have many of them in your base, the idea is to combine like 10 critters to one "advanced" critter. This critter should consume 10 times more and output 10 times more stuff. As example a slickster consumes 20kg of carbon dioxide per cycle, when combined to 10 critters it consumes 200kg of carbon dioxide per cycle. Also, the drops are increased of meat, the default meat is 3,200kcal and with the combining it would be 32,000kcal. The egg drops are increased as well. (we need to find a way to balance it). The thing is this idea of combining critters is not fully developed yet, but I wanted to share the idea with you and hope I will get some feedback / improvements. - Upgradeable Duplicants (The idea came from another guy, probably reddit? Thanks) Duplicants can produce massive lags especially when you have a big colony. To improve the performance I want to introduce you the upgradeable duplicants. The idea is, that you can boost the traits from your duplicants (like athletics, construction, ...) but your duplicants will consume more oxygen and food and they will get more stress and are more affected by diseases. The critter combining and upgradeable duplicant mechanics are only triggered by the player directly. (How this can be accomplished, I need to figure out yet, maybe some ideas?) Like why do we not have any better ways to dispense water? I just built ma spaceship and wanted to be able to water the plants while in space, but it's just not really feasible.. I've got tonnes of mods already and can build a bottle filler that would get the job done, but the thing is HUGE compared to the interior of a space ship like 3x3 tiles or something and has to be built on solid ground. A 1-2 tile tall plumbed water dispenser would be pretty killer Like a classic 2 tile high by 1 tile wide free-standing drinking fountain, or a single tile wall-mounted drinking fountain they could either drink from or pull water from, or just like a garden hose outlet that takes up 1 tile on ground level and causes them to spill a lil water each time they use it, idk anything small, even low-tech would be great! With this new frosty DLC mechanic mildly crippling dupes until they find a source of warmth, perhaps some new systems of personal heating might be called for too? Like efficient on-call ones, that don't have to warm an entire room constantly, that only switch on when a dupe needs to use it? There used to be the Blowdryer Mod, which dupes could pass like a sink and remove their unhappy moistness that I feel could be quite retro-fittable if you felt like and knew how to decompile stuff, or wanted to recreate it. The original dev said he lost his sauce code and wasn't gonna do anything with it years ago if I remember correctly, so I think it's free game and would be a very nice addition, that dupes could run to and switch on to warm up and/or dry off, in addition to the original functionality of using it if wanted when happening by.
