Problems with the cold

The dupes will do a job, tries to run to a heating station, stop half way and goes back to their job. They never make it to the heater. The frost resist buff will only last 0.2 cylcles. This is a massive loss of efficiency. You basically have to place heating stations everywhere.

Also, I just had all my dupes trying to run towards a 70C area that I tried to seal off, instead of all of the warming stations.

Also coats do nothing. You can see Joshua here getting 'chilly surroundings' immediately, and trying to use the heat station

Coats won't make you immune. Temperatures below around -25C will still trigger Chilly Surroundings even with a coat. I'm fine with that.

However, it would be nice if there were a way to have dupes not try to congregate in warm areas. It's especially bad when there's no mess hall space since they'll run halfway across the map to a warm place to try to eat. I'm not sure what a good solution is other than them ignoring Chilly Surroundings for the purposes of what they consider to be a safe place.

I think this is only an issue at the very beginning of the game. As soon as the dupes have some athletics, they do fine. Yes, this limits long-range exploration, but you do get one immune dupe right at the start if you take her. 

Hence I would classify this as "works as intended".

I'm much in favor of this hilarious mechanic. Especially since the fix is to implement by building tables

IMO the problem is that dupes drop chores to go to a heating station at all, they should finish what they're doing first before going to one.
