Loop's patented tried and tested pub chest storage system

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

I have played far too many hours in my pubs as the resident base estate manager, and I want to share the system that I found to work the best overall, that utilizes chest skins mainly.

In all my pubs, my ocd does not let me enjoy the game until the base is sorted and tidy.

If a base exists and it is not burned down, my main task is to be a maid and clean and decorate until the ground is empty and the place is cozy. No matter if everyone is starving.

I would rather have my team be ghosts, but the base be tidy, than the other way around.

Ghost players can be revived, an untidy base is forever.

People in my pubs have gradually learned to understand this system, so it is dummy proof.

Once you open the chests once and you see loot inside, it makes sense eventually.

The Start:

So here is the chest system and categories that worked so far:

- Place down some turf like wooden turf in a line, and start constructing your first chest row

- Chop a bit your first night with some pigs, or employ a max or woodie

- Build chests with skins with the following priority:

Main categories:

Prio #1: The minerals chest

Train_Case_Icon.webp.5fa815999f17159adc85e7072a9a29c1.webp Holds: Rocks, Flint, Marble, Moonstone, Glass

Prio #2: The grass / twigs chest

Pastoral_Chest_Icon.webp.2cdae293a0b5d19e9d02851935d19298.webp Holds: grass, twigs, rope, sometimes reeds and papyrus

Prio #3: The "Riches" golden chest

Ancient_Kings_Chest_Icon.webp.eed270152ae3be76e87e60bfcc000f8b.webp or 125px-Archaic_Chest_Icon.webp.9c2c29670e61e55dd11bc43b417f28b4.webp Holds: Gold, Gems, Ruins stuff (gears, nmf, living logs)

(Optional if above is too full: Split off into a magic purple chest preferably near your shadow manipulator)

Crimson_Chest_Icon.png.b8cc78bc944025b2a797fae3c6e582b0.png or Corrupted_Chest_Icon.webp.3cadbc07ba6c4a4ff5b2defd2b31fcfa.webp Holds: Nightmare fuel, pure horror, living logs, sometimes gems

Prio #4: Animal Products

Brute_Case_Icon.webp.47c14641a2142f3a311c858d0019fedf.webp Holds: Pig skin, feathers, stingers, anything really that drops from an animal
EXCEPT...

Prio #6: The Whites chest

Treasured_Chest_Icon.webp.b4b5f039f30ba7731d9a4da62e0d2db0.webp Holds: If it's  white , or spider related, it goes in this chest
(silk, glands, bones, hounds tooth, etc).
You'd be SURPRISED how many things are simply just a discolored white...
For some reason it works well as a category.

Prio #7: Wood

Travellers_Trunk_Icon.webp.6bbc2ff1384b854b02ff0337b1e3e22e.webp or Steamer_Trunk_Icon.webp.610aabd846d04b6867caef9e226b2d37.webp Holds: Wood, planks, pinecones, charcoal
(or use basic default unskinned chest)

Equipment and clothes:

To store equipment you can drop it in a 1x1 or 2x2 planked turf on the side.

You can enclose the corners of said drop off spot with some stone walls as a marker.

Extra:

If you want to expand with more categories, I recommend these as well as extra:

125px-The_Lambs_Reward_Icon.webp.70b8191a9067e5fda851b4e792e502f4.webp Holds: Boss drops (eyeballs, scales, mctusks, etc)

Carpet_Bag_Icon.webp.fc400c8f5752a528ea00623a3d65690d.webp Holds: Equipment. This one can be multiple of, in another area.
(here, I recommend the use of signs on top to mark what equipment is inside)

Lovely_Chest_Icon.webp.85d5c1fe6ecc740cdd9741d804d0a787.webp or Gingerbread_Chest_Icon.webp.cf4396d4b6ceda2dc05a76799e7f3e4e.webp Holds: Trinkets or gifts or blueprints

112px-Celebratory_Cake_Chest_Icon.webp.4896a221e0ae8d900532400c48f09ad9.webpor Calico_Chester_Chest_Icon.webp.949dd0acdde5b5380de02dc841636005.webp Holds: Bundled foods, non spoil foods (like treats, tall eggs, stone fruits)

Hope this keeps the Wilsons in your pubs more organized.

Really, with 5-7 chests you have everything organized.

If you need more room you can add more rows.

Then the pubs can occupy the chests top to bottom for each category.

Enjoy.

112px-Celebratory_Cake_Chest_Icon.webp.4896a221e0ae8d900532400c48f09ad9.webp Equippable items

For the left chests I don't have a system yet (I use them, if there is a lot of a certain items, that aren't the "main" items of the other chests, like Turfs).

Yeah, I always end up associating this one with plantation as well.
