Shadow Strike should affect flying enemies

Recommended Posts

I've been appreciating the changes Winona has been getting throughout this beta. I think she's in an amazing spot at the moment. I only have a couple more suggestions that I think would really bring the entire update together.

The first one is that the Shadow Strike's Vines should affect flying enemies. I think it's a shame that one of the best use cases for the Shadow Vines (Bee Queen) doesn't work because she and her Grumble Bees are considered to be a flying enemy. It's not very logical, but the case is similar with Maxwell's Shadow Cage, Willow's Shadow Flame and ground pound effects like Bearger's where it looks like flying enemies would be able to avoid them, but they don't. I think this would make the Shadow Strike effect very useful for her and Dragonfly, where their numbers and/or speed can be a major challenge in the fight.

The other is to consider giving the Generator some kind of fuel-saving mechanic for the late-game to compare it to the G.E.M.erator with an Enlightened Shard. I don't think it needs to be as powerful as the Enlightened Shard, but a weak power regeneration effect on the Generator when it's powered with Pure Horror (somewhat similarly to the Dreadstone Armor) could be nice to let Winona power her Spotlights as well as charge her items without consuming Nightmare fuel over time.

Honestly, I failed to understand where Shadow Strike's Vines should be used, if it had some form of buff or debuff it would be better, maybe if it made the enemy's attacks slower, I don't know. It seems pretty useless to me. But it's very beautiful. :)

you can use it as a defense to your base. Hounds, spiders, pigs, bunnymens, all of them can be killed by the vines and since now catapults dont break walls... just imagine all you can do with this perk plus explosive volley 3. :excitement:

This can be too powerfull cause bee queen is already really weak against catapults but hey im not against the idea. :D

I mean, if it was something as easy for a beginner to catch as it is for Willow to catch embers, of course that would make sense, but for someone to have the knowledge of catching pure horror and not knowing how to deal with these threats with a ham bat, I just find it a bit weird .
Because you would instinctively think: "I'm going to use it against the dogs when they come", so you're sacrificing 2 spaces in the inventory and 2 points in the tree, with something you could deal with in other, cheaper ways, I don't know, it doesn't make much sense For me, besides roleplay, because let's be honest, it's a visually incredible skill.

I agree its really beautiful, i think this combo of perks is made for veterans that would try to get pure horror as soon as posible to use the skill against stronger foes, i think this combo can be pretty strong against toadstool solo but im gonna need to try it when the beta ends.

and remember that pure horror is a lot easier to get as winona if you are using the shadow seeker 2 skill.

I'd like to see it purely because it would add a little more depth to Winona's shadow kit! It's a bit difficult to justify picking it over the Lunar side.

I mean you can always pick both there's enough skill points and winona doesn't have affinity locks other than the 2 t2 skills at both ends of the 3rd branch
