Can the new crabking get harder?

I had to really think about posting anything about this in hopes of the beta still changing something, but apparently the boss is getting even easier with his taunt now. This is my honest review, and I won't sugarcoat it. This is my final veredict, new crab king is currently a horrible design.

I know that you guys are probably done with him or something, but can we get some more interesting things going on with different gems? There's still time to make the fight an actual fight for survival.

I don't want it to be something like the enraged klaus, where you are purposefully making the boss harder for no reason, that's really not fun.

I wish it was something more like the old one, where everything is going on at the same time, like a real fight.

Current fight is too slow. The little crabby turrets rarely do anything and almost always misses which is ridiculous, the claws deal forgivable damage for an easy dodge AND have almost no hp. The fight is basically balanced for solo+with different gems, so it got worse very quickly.

In my testings, a hambat with any character was already too easy and repeatable of a fight. If you play elden ring for example, the first boss you encounter has like 20 attacks and they are all random. I wish dst had more random attacks and bosses randomly choosing what to do based on players actions.

  • First of all, yes I am comparing both games, because dst CAN have random attacks, harder bosses and uncompromising fights. I didn't compare the graphics or anything else, so don't comment "..but you're comparing a multimilionaire company with an indie one" cause that's simply irrelevant. Almost everything we have in souls like games CAN be implemented in dst and modders have proven that more than anyone.
  • Second of all, dst has 10 years+ of existence, the minimum they can do is start to bump up their game to a new level. We have seen a bunch of low graphic games get massive, so there is no excuse.

If you currently compare having to use almost 4 panflutes on BQ to the amount of uses you need to sleep all little crabs it gets kinda boring. You hit him and ignore the claws, then he goes to the next phase, then you jump on the ice platform that he himself makes for you (how convenient), sleep the little crabs, break the ice barrier and hit him before he can even start healing now, then go back to your boat and repeat. And you don't even need the panflute now, you can easily just tank and kill the little crabs and he won't even heal in time.

They did horrible justice with the first design of the boss. Now he looks stupid and easily runover. Before he was like the king of the ocean, now he's a random prick that you can easily learn the whole fight first time just by looking at someone playing. Where's the practicing? Where's the uncompromising? It's in the title of the game but the game keeps getting easier and easier.

When you try to make every fight accessible for wilson with a spear and no cane, you have to take in consideration that your designs are going to be extremely laughable if I'm playing wolfgang with a dark sword. There is a possibility of making a fight great while also hard and uncompromising.

Another issue I wanna discuss is the fact that rollback is a thing, I wish I didn't have that command option so easily at my disposal. I hate using it unless I create a world solely for testing. But probably 90% of people will rollback when they die they're first time, no one wants to lose their 10+ hours world to a slight mistake you did. That's not being "uncompromising", that's a bad design. If you drown in the fight you can just come back and try again. If you die to dragonfly you can find a touchstone, have someone revive you, use life giving amulets, use meat effigies. There's a bunch of things in this game that are going wrong because of bad designs man. There's always the BEST way of making something, and I think that you guys (devs) are not giving your all.

New crab king is an idiot with horrible ai, old crabking was a perfectly fine fight, and he was way more of a boss before.

Bro the new crab king needs improvements but this game isn't elden ring. you have one way to avoid attacks; move. with a few other exceptions. little variety of weapon ranges, spells, metas, etc. this game isn't designed for the player to be able to handle a bajillion random attacks unless you wanna hold a bajillion items.

That’s cool.. but, it’ll just make the fight easy to do in a group, and frustrating AF Solo.

Crab King is a odd boss, he is prerequisite to unlocking new global based challenges (weather and new mob spawns) in your world.. so he shouldn’t be ballstothewalldifficult.

Maybe just have the minions scale with how many players there are, like in solo there would be only 3 to 4 crabs helping out but in multiplayer, that are 5 to 6.
