Why do skins disappear when I play split screen?

Hi, me and my mother were enjoying don't starve together, and we had this glitch, where both our beeflo's heads were invisible, also, some of the chest skins were invisible. Is this normal for splitscreen? 

 

We play together on the PS5, and this issue has been happening a lot more since we switched over from PS4 to the PS5.

I'm afraid this issue has been around since June 2023, but there's been no official comms about it, just the occasional probe for more info but no fixes. 

One user suggested clear the cache and rebuild the database which worked for me for a while, but a couple of days play after and it was back again.

I really wish they would investigate, I paid money to buy the bolts of cloth for these skins but no one's doing anything to make them display properly so it's exceedingly disappointing.
