Electified Ice flingomatic and lightning rod

Recommended Posts

What if, by scanning a lightning rod and ice flingomatic, Winona could create her own versions of them?

They could be disassembled and carried by her just like her other machinery, as well as interacting with generators (ice flingo would use electrical power instead of fuel, while lightning rod would give some charge to the generator when struck, otherwise it would act as a normal lightning rod).

My reasons: As Winona, you may want to leave some of your structures around the world, especially now that spotlights are more useful and teleplatforms exist, however you may face some issues in spring and summer(mostly summer tbh but bear with me), due to lightnings and wildfires. Now, of course it's not that hard to just put lighting rods near your set ups, but flingos can be a bit more annoying, needing additional fuel, as well as being harder to relocate if the need arises, compared to the now easily movable machinery Winona uses.

So, if we had an electrified ice flingomatic, we could simply put them where we need them, and not worry about our precious machinery burning up to coals, and if we ever decide to move it all, it could be done without issues. (ok I mostly made this post for the flingomatics, but I think lightning rods charging generators is a funny little interaction, perhaps it could just work with regular lighting rods instead idk)

Overall, I think Winona being able to utilize various already existing technologies of the constant in her own way is an interesting idea that could add some flavor to her engineering theme.

Spoiler

also it could be nice if those crafts used some scrap, Winona gets a bunch of it semi-passively if she picks finders keepers skills, but the only real use she has for it pre-rift are Winbots, which are nice, but still.

I'm down for this. As it stands, the Wagstaff side seems underwhelming compared to the Charlie side, as all it currently gives you is teleportation, while Charlie's side gives you better teleportation on top of other really good things. We need more Wagstaff gadgets

it's also just teleportation though? bridges are only 3 tiles long at most, free nf once in a while isn't very valuable, free revive is mostly a perk for newbies, being in darkness still drains a lot of sanity and you could already do that by swapping to torch and back every 5 seconds or so and i forgot what else is there

I mean, a revive is a revive, especially with the ability to control where you respawn while keeping your inventory. The bridge isn't the best, nor is the darkness stuff, but virtually unlimited revives with no usual drawbacks associated with death isn't something to be ignored. The Wagstaff side has only the telebrella/telepad thing exclusive to it. The Charlie teleports are better and there's other substantial stuff. The WINbot and reverse engineering isn't exclusive to Wagstaff either since all you need is the tier 1 perk for those.
