Even more changes I want to make to the new skill trees

1st tiers

    • lights give off heat

  • Quick Charge (needs portability upgrade)

Second Shelf (requires 3 perks from bottom shelf)

    • increase fire rate while in range of handy remote

    • Greatly reduce the effect of wetness on body temp

    • damage will consume wetness instead of health

(All these skills merged with their respective numbered scale on path 2)

--Bottom paths

  • Gnaw alter 1
    • Craft a Ceremonial Kelp Dish to  convert all mosquito spawns to blackfly spawns
  • Gnaw alter 2
    •  the skill coverts tentacles into root tentacles the type of wood is that of a spiky tree, and it has teethed Suckers they’re really just tiny gnaw mouths

      Can push past the limit of your stomach once suppressing the limit, it turns into a hangry meter that can go up to 375 hunger while Hangry You deal two times the damage and take half damage(This extends to all merm followers) merm followers can follow up to 4 1/2 days without eating  and if they die well, then dropping a fish and frog legs a frog-ish fish(this time with only the front two legs) will spawn Fight whatever killed the merm and if it manages to survive, it’ll follow you And if it dies it will drop frog legs and a dead fish  you can also summon root tentacles to fight enemies at the cost of hunger when you have the Hangry meter

  • Industrious Merm 1
    • Shoddy Tool shed to equip your merm workers with shoddy tools
  • Industrious Merm 2
    • same but better
  • Hardheaded 1
    • carft an Armermry to equip your Loyal Merm Guards with Swamp Brawler Helmets

Affinity Skills

--Shadow path

  • Shadow corrupted Merm
    • Grant your loyal Merms the wndrous gift of shadow corruption  by feeding them nightmare fuel 

      (with the shadow merm guards looking like triumphant Wurt and I don’t mind if you do Something completely different with regular merms but for simplicity sake, I’m just gonna say have them look like triumphant Wurt But without the horns)

    • infuse shadow merm with Planor power using Pure Horror
  • Terra Corruption
    • no Land shall be safe from the dark and beautiful corruption of the marsh

(dreaded mudslinger is replaced by horrific mudslinger with a more reflective design of the brilliant mudslinger or replace Driftwood with the strident trident, didn’t have them be the brilliant trident and the horrific trident and when they convert turf to marsh, they have the same gleam as Merm king When summoning his guards but white or red)

(Also if the team has a heart fit on shower being resurrection, can you pay with the same? You even really have to change the design to have a gestalt merm (white silhouette of a merm) possess their old body like fresh Gestalts Possess mobs, and Wurt’s Moonbound skin can be a three horned bright eyed frog)

--Lunar path

  • Lunar Mutated Merm
    • Grant your loyal Merms the wndrous gift of lunar mutation by feeding them Infused moonglass (I hope Wurt’s moonbound skin Looks like mutated merm guards)
    • empower your mutan merm with planar power using pure brilliance
  • (I don’t know what the lunar equivalent to Tarra corruption is called but Instead of lunacy Anenemies that repeatedly open and shut and last as long as she tentacles or something will spawn in the place of shadow tentacles(some sort of lunar equivalent of shadow tentacles))

I don't know, but being able to cause quakes (I suppose this means earthquakes?) sounds like a allmighty-mighty ability. I am not sure if this wouldn't be too much strength. But then I don't know in comparison to other skill trees since I usually avoid playing with them.

never mind I realized that the quakes that the gnaw causes are probably caused by the size of the gnaw rather then a power, looking for alternatives

Related question What mobs would it not be unbalanced to give the likeness of the gnaw?

I fear I don't know the full list of mobs yet that exist in DST to make up my mind on this. Maybe someone else has an idea. The only animal that comes to my mind would be the depthworms. But what exactly was the question referring to? Maybe I missunderstood it.

So the only power I can think of is how the gnaw turns things into merms and give more creative liberty+ The blackfly transformation would contradict that if it was just merms I opened it up to the likeness of the gnaw 

Also, by the way that there is a bunch of lore that we probably don’t me to get into

the lore became awfully confusing to me once forge and gorge were added to the game. (at that time I wasn't playing DST at all). So I fear I can't find anything that makes sense for those at all.

But is it the look of the gnaw your have trouble with or is it finding mobs that wouldn’t be overpowered to turn into allies  through the transformation

No actually none of those! I didn't know you were searching for other allies then the Merms you mentioned. I thought the problem was still revolving around the earthquake thing. So your question this time was actually considering whether follower merms should become affected by the gnaw's blessing or not? I fear I don't know enough about skilltrees and wurt to know what exactly a blessed merme follower would be, in comparison to before the 2nd blessing of the gnaw happened. Sorry, I fear I am no help. I thought this ideas on what COULD be added to the game was interesting to read and just wanted to mention that being able to summon earthquakes sound a little too powerful to be an ability to aquire, that was all, actually.

No, what I meant was I wanted to the same power that turned the goat people and swamp pigs into merms on other creatures to make new mobs separate from the merms and the original species to be your allies

Now I get it! OK, then maybe then one could turn tentacles into fireflies. I know this sounds like underwhelming in comparison, but having fireflies following without the need of using a bugnet and spending inventory space could be a little useful after all. (Just the transformation obviously wouldn't look as awesome as the turning into a merm one.) Plus cleaning the swamp from hostile tentacles to make it safer for fellow survivors.

I was actually thinking if I were to use it on tentacles I’d probably use it to make the unimplemented root tentacle but friendly 

But also, there are a few problems to have one icon make the mobs that get turned mobile, also what is a root of it doesn’t seem very gnaw like

Hmm I don't know if it can be made possible to turn static mobs into mobile mobs, but maybe if not the tentacles, could then maybe instead of turning a mob into a firefly, could the gnaw make it possible to have fireflys spawn from wurt-selected mosquito ponds? So if wurt gains the blessing of the gnaw, could she get an option that along side "examining" the pond, she could turn it into a firefly-spawning pond instead (maybe additional to the mosquitos to not make mosquitos disappear entirely)

The first gnaw alter skill already turns mosquito spawns into black fly spawns

Sorry that was my mistake. I missread it as the black flys being additional to mosquitos (once again my brain hasn't got sleep for days)

Don’t worry, I have insomnia too. I get it.

So, so far I thought of two things where they also have problems alongside them 

1. Been able to perform the curse on pond fish to create merm pups(they grow two pairs of frog legs scales turn green. Those fans are at the side of merm’s head grow on their head and they act like dogs that will fight for you) the two problems with this one is it’s based off theory I disagree with where the guy said that how was created was by performing the same curse on a fish and that’s how merms reproduce when I believe that they just do it the old-fashioned way if you know what I mean? Two  logistically they’d probably be super weak and I don’t think wurt or any other merm would subject their pet fish to that kind of danger.

The other idea I got from you using the power on depth worms to Turn them into depth wyrms ( there fur will turn to scales and will be green with the mouth of the gnaw) the problem with this is they might be too overpowered, and I can’t think of a way to transport them between shards

Those sound like two creative new creatures to add, but the problem with depth worms / wyrms being incredibly powerful would still be a thing, indeed. About the merm puppies....that would be more like a critter-follower then? Critter followers are immune to damage as far as I remember, so it wouldn't be "actual" danger for the pet fishies.
