Shadow resurrection Merm skill should require giving a merm nightmare fuel for it to work (Also inspired by my skill? That is cool)

This is from both a consistency, logic, and maybe balance viewpoint.

It would make it more consistent with the lunar skill, and make sense as you give the merm the nightmare fuel to do this power. It would be a nice thing to do to empower your merms.

The pure horror merms will automatically have this ability too.

Side Note: In terms of the powers the merms gain, both shadow and lunar Wurt affinities seem to have big inspiration from my Wurt affinities in my skilltree which is very neat.:)  (the lunar one a little less)

So i haven't had enough time to fully mess around with the shadow merms currently do they just become shadow merms when your normal merm followers die? Or do you have to do something specific for the interaction to trigger?

I also find it kind of funny that klei used Wurt as a stand in for how the ancients fell. With the shadow side showing how they made the transition to shadow creatures and the lunar side showing how lunar mutants are born. It's also abjt sad since Wurt's skill tree seems to kinda imply that in her quest to empower her people she's going to cause their downfall.

I dont get why is the shadow side the one that revives enemies. The moon reanimating death bodies was their whole theme

I believe it's a ancients lore tie in.

On a side note kinda disappointing that the most interesting Wurt ability is locked behind post rift at least the lunar one anyway.

No trigger, it is unconditional unlike the lunar ones. I saw a merm die, and it dropped a shadow. (My game then crashed, i cant test what the shadows do exactly)

When a tame merm dies, its shadow version jumps out of it. This is the same thing that many characters talk about about the 4th Mural. Yes, and in general it is approximately drawn on an ancient milling cutter

The shadow merms should revive specifically when wurt is at low sanity, to not make it a freebie.

And why not? You already need to tame them so that they appear + this will balance the fact that you can get a million lunar mermaids by pressing a button
