The Hardest DST Challenge Ever Completed

that's cool! do you happen to have a link or know where it is? i can't imagine between fuelweaver in a reasonable amount of time without crafting(i meant everything including non science items), which wouldn't be optimal. i can't find anything without crafting on speedrun.com.

also celestial champion would be impossible unless you get both a star caller staff and deconstruction staff from ag or the ruins. and killing crab king would require a boat. i think fuelweaver is the only way.

my bad, the current WR does craft a few things, but my old TAS does do it without crafting anything so at least it's possible:

damn that's impressive. i didn't even know there was a moggles setpiece. i also realized celestial champion without crafting once is impossible since astral detectors and pinch and winch can't be crafted. and the incomplete exerpiment can't be made. not to mention bug nets for moon gleams, getting a boat and paddle, etc.

I find myself confused about why exactly the "All Major Bosses" category includes the specific bosses it does? I remember a decent portion of one of your previous videos focusing on the fact that an "All Bosses" speedrun would be very hard to define, seeing as the idea of what is and isn't a boss is very subjective and so anyone's specific all bosses run would be arbitrary... but this one feels just as arbitrary? Nightmare Werepig isn't here, but Klaus is? None of the possessed bosses are here, but the Twins are? Heck, the Twins are here but NOT the Eye of Terror? Scrappy Werepig isn't here either. What led you to these specific choices? I thought it was all ANR + RoT bosses, but there's no Malbatross or Antlion, so I thought it might be all summon-able bosses, but there's no Deerclops or either Werepig or the Malbatross. What specifications make a boss "major" here?

those are just major bosses from speedrun.com, which are just bosses with 10k or more total hp iirc, daywalkers technically have 9999 hp because they die after they reach 1 hp and stay at that

this is the goofiest thing i have ever heard of in my life

it's just the 10 main bosses from speedrun.com

the criteria is "whatever the community feels should be major boss" (in my case I just define it as the 5 questline bosses and the 5 arena bosses that have more than 10k hp, with nightmare werepig not being included because it has 9999 effective hp)

Imagen not being taken seriously by the best player because you lack 2 hp.

AG (10000 exact HP) would also likely not be included in the main bosses list if it wasn't required for FW so no

Armored bearger has 8k hp normally, and a dark sword (68 dmg) filtered through the planar entity protection formula is only going to do 41.32 damage or 60.766% damage, meaning that it would take roughly 196 hits with a dark sword before dying, meaning that without any planar at all it would have an effective 13k hp

you are most likely to have planar stuff by the time it spawns, it's about by how much does it's hp need to get decreased for it to die and no one'd run it anyway because waiting for day 75 isn't remotely fun

if we want to go by HP in this very particular way, then one would have to count it. either that or just dont name the category something as broad as all major bosses lol

that's not a category, that isn't a speedrun

It’s not that “broad” it’s kinda specific if you look at the context. I’m pretty sure Major bosses is what speedrun.com calls all bosses with over 10k hp.

it is worth noting that guille is the main moderator of the don't starve together speedrun.com leaderboards. he is not an outside observer

Hardest DST related challenge ever attempted? No.

Hardest completed? Maybe.

I've played this one and it dosen't hold a candle to what Guille achieved. I'm pissing my bed just thinking about trying his challenge out.

I wouldn't call this the hardest dst challenge ever Walter is a baby mode character if you never get hit, not to mention Woby making the challenge of traversal a breeze, I did a run like this with Wes (pb 50 days) his meager sanity pool and non-existent damage makes boss "fights" actual fights, not to mention his slow working and susceptibility to the elements makes going fast without taking actual true damage difficult (but not impossible for me, obviously) get gud.
p.s I don't need to cheat to get a lazy explorer, I just deal with it or reset
p.p.s I don't need a bunch of client mods to make up for my skill issue

Facts. I cringed so hard when guille used status announcement to count his 40 twigs, like dude, go practice math or something.

I do think "Hardest DST Challenge ever" was hyperbole/clickbaity on purpose. You can always make things harder for yourself if you want... Like, I dunno, do this exact same challenge, but with Wendy and without Abigail.

"Hardest challenge ever" is kinda like a speedrunner saying, "This is the best time ever. The category is done. Nobody will ever beat it." It's more like a statement of "OMG I did it! this was stupidly hard and I'm so proud of myself!" than a statement that should be taken literally.

This was a very hard challenge and Guile has all the right to be proud of it.

cool because nobody called it the hardest challenge ever
