How about the game just checks if you have the shadow atrium (heart) in your inventory so if you want to make a cave stalker or forest stalker the game knows what skeleton you are trying to make

Good news for you then. In Klei's newest livestream on twitch they said the new update would add the exact feature you described.

isn't it going to only work in atrium regardless of having a shadow heart?

I remember them saying "if you have the right items" so either the key, heart or both.

That's why it should only need the heart, on the stream they listed being in the atrium, with the key while being upside down and backwards. It should only be have the heart so when i'm in the caves or the forest i can make the skeleton for the cave stalker.
