isDown Posted February 15, 2024 Share Posted February 15, 2024 Nearly hitting 3000 cycles, but I've never opened temporal tears, cuz that feels like lots of hassle on the useless tundra asteroid and eventually killing one of my precious dupe. Also I really hope there can be a multiplayer mode for ONI, just like what DST got. But the multiplayer mod on base game makes me realize that controlling one world together only makes things complex and possibly frustrating. So my imagination started drifting towards something simpler, like sending a rocket to your friends, like you own different planets. But that still requires everyone stay online at the same time, not a good idea for a game like ONI. And why would you need these rockets when you've already got a whole starmap? Luckily, SO dlc trailer told us that entering temporal tear basically means time&space travelling and that inspired this multiplayer mode idea. When you send a rocket into the tear, it becomes a record for other players to read and stays frozen so your pilot won't rot there. Your steam friends can then "read" this record and guide this rocket into their worlds. This record will always be there until the pilot returns to your world. If the pilot dies on the way, the rocket should vanish so no griefing can be done. If no successful round trips were made, the rocket will automatically return to your world after like 50 cycles. Hopefully this can prevent consistency issues. A new use for temporal tear opener! Consume more radbolts to send messages to your rockets, read your friends' "rocket records" and guide the rocket to your colony. Introducing the Neutronium Collider Module for rocketry ---- It can carry any materials, and convert them into neutronium while crossing the temporal tear! A rubbish bin at long last? Be gone data banks! In this way it can be also accessible for single players, just more efficient for multiplayer mode, when successful round trips are made. new buildings ---- Meditation Futon & Pseudo-omniscient decoder ---- The futon functions as a cot but without morale bonus. While the dupe is idle in the tear, time journals will be created. With these jounrals together with some other advanced space materials, we can produce things like super thermium, overheat temp + 3500c, a relative normal&non-exploit way to deal with anything molten. Hope you like it! Maybe these contents will never be touched by 90% of players even if they were added, but it may at least encourage more players to build rockets!
