Add the messaging feature to DST Nintendo Switch Edition

Recommended Posts

The Nintendo Switch Edition of DST is currently missing the ability to send messages in-game like every other version of the game has. This normally would not be a huge problem, but due to the way in which the Switch works, in that you cannot send messages to anyone unlike on Playstation and Xbox. In general, the inability to message every player in a server at one time is greatly inconvenient. While signs can be used to communicate, this will only work if the player or player(s) you wish to talk to are not within your immediate vicinity. I'm not sure if the ability to message in-game is missing as a result of technical limitations, or if it is a result of the relatively short amount of time that the Switch version has been out for, but if the messaging system could be added into this version of the game, then that would be greatly appreciated.

With Monster Hunter Rise you're able to chat in real time as well as use a keyboard to chat, so I don't understand why it's not possible either. It's such a huge hinderance to have to communicate with signs especially because newer players don't know how to craft them.

And you can't use them until you get a Science Machine. Maybe the Switch 2 DST will solve that. And maybe it'll solve lagout while trying to enter caves, and cause world peace while we're at it.
