Usage for Mug artefact?

Since it's a generic artefact, you get quite a lot of them late game, and it's not worth storing them on pedestals, as they aren't that impressive.

Perhaps there could be a special building, a mug shelf you can put in recreational room, and you could assign a dupe individual mug to drink from juicers, espresso machines, water coolers or sodas, to have a tiny extra morale bonus.

I think it's reasonable that personal mugs can boost morale, just as private rooms can boost morale.

If the player doesn't need the mug, it would be even better if it could be crushed into sand.

There's an idea.

Crushing artifacts for resources. 

Though id go with abyssalite so we have a small renewable source late game.
