abusing implementation of mechanics

Recommended Posts

With the last updates Klei finally added knock down to some enemies, actually to practically all new enemies. I love that they added this mechanic but feels like they are overusing for new enemies while some old enemies that could have it didnt get it like regular bearger or treeguards which also would be a good thing for marble suits since their knock down resistance perk is only useful for day walker and planar enemies that receive the mechanic.

Also klei has been abusing adding a "stun" mechanic to bosses, AG refresh made him stun himself when hitting a pillar, daywalker stops to breath and the 3 new bosses have a weakness that stuns them (for bearger and deerclops creates the problem of making the fight repetitive) and i fear they will keep adding it

when you add something to everything you make it feel less and less special so i hope you only add a mechanic when it really feels like fits the mob/boss/whatever (like you did by not adding knock down to moon varg and moon deerclops)

Aren't they doing this tho? The ink trio doesn't have stun nor do the shadow leech things

so everything should be the same because you don't like that bosses aren't just holding the attack key?

do you know how to read? im asking for variety, im glad they added it (read the 1st line) but i dont like that suddenly every enemy does it

im also glad they are using antlions sinkholes for more enemies but won't feel special if every damn mob and boss gets it, right?

idk why i expect common sense from you, honestly

nice edit, sadly it appears in my answere. The rook from the ini trio knocks you down when jumps to eat you but you aren't close enough to be eatean. So even them have that mechanic applied

You should play more

It seems like knock backs were made to discourage tanking, which is a good intention, but done in a frustrating way. Often times you get multiple hits from enemies with knock backs and you can't do anything for a couple seconds. For example, nightmare werepig's slam attack, if you get hit once you would not be able to dodge the next slam because of the non-cancel-able long animation.

This repeatedly stun locking players is really similar to Ewecus spit attack, you can't do anything once hit and it's spammed constantly(technically you can get out of it, but for knock backs you can't, so that doesn't matter in this comparison). Bad mechanics.

i like that we get punished futher than just being hit, werepig or bearger making us combos is an unique and cool thing imo

CC to players has always being a thing and not implementing it limits the combat mechanics that can be included

I intended to write a counter argument, but since you're just being mean to the other friend.

I'd like to say, Skill Issue on your part, go touch some grass. Get ratioe'd.

is hard to dont be mean to people who atack and support atacks to megabasers for wanting challenges instead of chores

what do you mean by skill issue when im asking for more variety of that kind of combat mechanic? im complaining about they repeating the same 2 mechanics in most mobs and bosses added, there are harder things that can be added and the ones already added like antlion's sinkholes and knock downs should be added to old mobs and bosses like regular bearger knocking us

lmao, the forum just keeps getting worse each year
