Why isn't Crab King/Malbatross/Toadstool considered naturally wet?

Recommended Posts

Considering the Crab King is a boss out at sea, I don't understand why they can't be considered naturally wet. Even Merms are wet under normal circumstances.

I wouldn't say Malbatross is naturally wet, but considering it constantly dives into the ocean to either fish, or to run from a fight, I feel that should have some say in wetness (maybe waterproof feathers, but they can get wet in your inventory, so I guess fix one or the other)?

Tentacles and Depthworms are considered naturally wet, and it makes sense due to being underground, but why doesn't the same apply to Toadstool?

I just find it a bit stupid how the two highest health mobs in the entire constant, and are always in positions that would consider them wet, aren't naturally "Wet". Let Electric damage take full effect on them.

CK is always above the water.

In real life, water birds usually have a gland that the "press" to release a kind of "oil" that they use on their body to keep them waterproof, as if their feathers get wet, they won't be able to fly. So I guess Malbatross is like that for realism.

And I don't know if guano turf would be wet or dry, but the answer for Toadstool wetness lies in there. Jokes aside, Toadstool should always be wet because he (at least) looks like an amphibian, and those guys usually die if their skin gets dry.

Main reason for my CK argument was partially for it being a crab, but honestly my main gripe is that it's basically just a massive health pool, and a tedious fight. Electric damage wouldn't change the fight too much, but would give more use for the morning star, or Warly.

I understand to an extent on Malbatross being an aquatic bird. I was half debating on adding him to the list, but considering how the feathers can get wet in your invintory, that's why I was considering. Plus, it's also a giant bird, and if I learned anything from pokemon, it's that electric should be strong against flying. Honestly though, I can deal with Malb not being wet. Maybe if they just make it so the feathers can't get wet in your inventory to sell the bit.

That's because the glands that produces waterproof oils are on the bird, not on the feathers, the feathers themselves are not waterproof :wilson_nerdy:

Malbatross is not waterproof though, otherwise he would never get wet at all. But rain does make him wet, so should diving in the ocean. I absolutely agree about Toad and CK being naturally wet. If merms are always wet, then all frogs should be (regular ones and new glass mutants too). CK is above the water but he uses geysers and claws emerge from the ocean. Maybe it could become wet throughout the fight (or at least his claws should be always wet).
