lakhnish Posted September 30, 2023 Share Posted September 30, 2023 With the content in this beta and what was talked about in the dev stream in regards to the future of the Lunar Rifts, I am very excited to enable the Lunar Rifts in order to get to this new content. Unfortunately, the main thing that needs addressing is the spawn chance of the Celestial Orb. To my understanding, the Orb is not guaranteed to spawn as again, to my understanding, the spawn chance for the orb is as follows: First, get a 20% chance for a meteor to be a large size. Then get a 15% chance for that large-sized meteor to be a pointy moon boulder. Then (and this part isn't so clear to me), that pointy moon meteor initially has a 34% chance to instead be the suspicious moon boulder. This increases by 34% every time you get a pointy moon boulder until this chance either reaches 100% or the world has reached day 60, making the suspicious moon boulder a 100% chance to spawn if a pointy moon boulder spawns. I have seen many posts over the years on Reddit and on the forums where players could not get the suspicious meteor boulder to spawn in their world despite playing for a few hundred days, with the most recent being Jazzy's run with Wormwood. Yes, one could enable Lunar Rifts at the start of the world, but I would like to go through the journey of defeating the Celestial Champion to get to the Lunar Rift content, as there was a lot of work that was put into the game to get to this point. I propose that if Alter has been awakened (which means that the player has socketed all three Alters on the island), the game should skip all the requirements listed above and just spawn the Suspicious Boulder in the meteor biome. Jokes aside, it is very frustating even when you activate the rifts on game start, as you will only have access to the brightsmith when you find the orb or when you find the lunar Island. which can mean quite a lot of days, if you are solo or with a character that struggles with the lunar-island-finding process.
