I want to rent a server, but I don’t know how much network bandwidth is needed for 6 players. Can anyone help me? Daniel86268 Posted September 27, 2023 Share Posted September 27, 2023 A DST Server really doesn't need much bandwidth. Especially when renting a server this is usually the last of your concerns. According to the wiki you need about 8 kbyte/s (or 64kbit/s) of upload per player. With 6 players that adds up to 56 kbyte/s (or 384 kbit/s) of upload speed. For example: assuming your server provider grants you 100 mbit/s symmetrical, it's be enough for (100000 kbit/s divided by 64 kbit/s per player = ) 1562 Players, which is far more than any DST Server could handle. Granted, you always want a little more than absolutely necessary, as transfer speeds might fluctuate, and every headroom is welcome in that case.
