The item registry account for those items because they are from DST, but got removed from drop tables and from crafting recipes in favor for their new version. I suppose that it was done in such a way that people who had those items before the update that removed them don't experience crashes or bugs. (I know for a fact that Wickerbottom old agricuture book still exists).
