Wurt needs a spring nerf

Recommended Posts

If you dont know wurt doesnt lose sanity when shes wet since merms are some kind of fish. This perk makes sense lore wise but gameplay wise its just random. I suggest making her cold blooded so she starts freezing when shes wet she also freezes a little faster in winter.

I want to know what other peaple think of this. Maybe there is something im not seeing in this perk so please write a comment about what you think

Gameplay-wise, it's one of the bigger QoL features of Wurt.

It allows you to mostly ignore Wetness and encourages you to forgo having to use an Eyebrella during Spring.

She will still freeze due to the wetness, but when you have the Scorching Sunfish, you get to ignore that and the Scorching Sunfish lasts much longer since fish in Wurt's inventory lasts 4 times as long.

There is also her strong grip perk where items will not slip out of her hands like other characters when they reach a certain level of wetness.

The strong grip perk + no sanity penalty when wet + scorching sunfish are really a major selling point of Wurt that I personally really enjoyed, and I'm not even a big fan of the Wurt playstyle.

Her inability to eat meats is plenty enough of a counterbalance.

Yes but wouldnt it be better if she wasnt as good in sping but had more perks related to city building?

Wurt is such an interesting character and using some of her potential on a random spring perk feels wrong

No, I don't agree. If anything, being good in spring is part of what defines her as a character. One could argue that having extra handicaps in hotter, dryer weather could better balance things out, but like I said, no meat is already plenty to balance out the perks.

Make her the opossite of Wx, if she isn't wet in summer, when she uses a tool she takes damage from her skin cracking up.

Jokes aside, I think that the fish girl is very balanced.

It seems like people think im saying wurt is too op. What im actually saying is that her spring mechanics dont connect to city building(her main perk) at all. Id rather have wurt be not as good in spring if it means making her have more perks related to city building

If what you really wanted was for there to be more done in regards to merm-civ building, you should have opened with that in your original post and I would have agreed with you.

But since you want to nerf one thing (Wurt's QoL spring perks) to make another thing better (the merm-civ buidling) when you could have instead just improved that one thing without having to nerf anything else, I don't agree with your proposition, even if I think that more can be done to improve the merm-civ building aspect to Wurt.
