I think it is probably high time the wall system is re-thought, or at the very least, why not just make dreadstone walls unbreakable by non-boss enemies? Dreadstone pillars are unbreakable to bosses, so it seems reasonable to me that dreadstone walls could act similarly for normal mobs.

Would this allow cheese stategies? Absolutely. But it really wouldn't be anything more significant than what is already provided by statues, not to mention the game is chock-full of ways enemies can be cheesed. I just find it very silly that walls are essentially useless for their intended purpose.
