EatenCheetos
Kitchen / storage area Farm areas Pig farm / bee farm At night, fireflies light up the walkways! Here is the full layout using google sheets Building a base around above-average trees is very optimal for two huge reasons: You cannot overheat in the shade Nothing will smolder in the shade Feel free to ask questions / suggest improvements! Copyafriend
VERY cool, I really like the overall design. I would personally have included a twiggy tree/grass gekko pen instead of the farm tiles, as you clearly have enough food to be sustainable without farming, it would provide grass and twigs passively in the winter (i just think they're neat also lol) secondarily, kelp! you could easily plant kelp fronds around the edge of the base. dried is good for sanity, uncooked is good for filler (which i'm seeing a bit of a lack of veggie fillers for beefy greens, and kelp needs no fertilization), alternatively, mushrooms, or stone fruit could be nice. alternatively, a small patch of trees in place of the farm tiles, you have no wood inside your safe area. this isn't necessarily a flaw, i just think it would be nice. fun ideas a couple dozen penned moleworms, they wont be able to dig under fences, but you can dig up their dens for gold/flint/rock etc, providing an at-home method of getting minerals. some light bugs (not fireflies) inside of the grass/twig patches could light those up at night as well, but would provide more visual clutter than you may want to deal with. a pile of life-giving amulets is a must if you wanna bring noobs by your base. planting next to a pond can give water 3/4ths of the year, with the downside of either frogs or mosquitos. a houndious shootius is nowhere to be seen, he could easily watch over your pigs while they march forever towards the powder cake. an ocuvigil to leak your current address to anyone joining a cartographers desk for any noobies. instead of twiggy saplings, you could have spiky bushes, they grow in the winter aswell, and cost very little armor durability to be picked for less than 1 health. Flooring, you could have roads I'm mostly just spitballing, its a cool little base Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/149801-my-take-on-the-most-optimal-base-featuring-above-average-trees-explanation-and-full-layout-in-comments/#findComment-1654026 Share on other sites
Masked Koopa
I think Grass Gators are a superior source of twigs whilst Grass Gekkos are superior for grass. Both of them can be kept on piers, and are immune to brightshade infection, as well as producing passively and during the winter. As for your farm, it would probably be best to also include a brightshade pen nearby to protect your farm from being infected. It is definitely a nice base though.
