Hear me out

okay so like- It would be cool for Klei to revisit other aspects of the game. One thing I thought that was lacking was the moon phases, so now that they are adding late game changes I thought. . .

Full moon:
Once lunar rifts are activated, every full moon each mob (hostile or docile, or both) will turn into a lunar variant type, we know the moon has this power so it makes sense. This could change their loot table, health, attack patterns, etc.

New Moon:
This is basically the antithesis of the full moon. It has a similar affect to the full moon in that it turns mobs into a nightmare, pure horror tainted type of variant as well. Again, this can add in new items, attack patterns, health, etc.

Idk, I just thought it would spice things up more in the end game and was an interesting idea.

I've been thinking myself, the moon is so disconnected from the game even after 4 years that I think it'd be cool if half of the moon cycle would have your sanity replaced with enlightenment (the days leading to full moon and the ones right after) and the other 10 would have normal sanity.

Yeah, big drastic change but I feel like it's kind of needed, or at least more moon things need to exist in DST, with this of course we need more mutated variants of mobs, and new threats at full enlightenment because even though insanity itself is pretty barebones when it comes to dangers (2 creatures) full enlightenment only has one and it's a very annoying one aka the Gestalt.

I'm pretty sure what you're asking for is Wickerbottom Griefer Buff.

Until Lunar Grimoire gets nerfed, it's not a good idea to add a huge event that can be completely controlled by some, not all, players.

Wickerbottom killed the moon cycle, sigh.
