cave exits that don't correspond to cave entrances

Recommended Posts

This one annoys me a bit.  I find a cool cave exit near things I want in the caves and want to know where on the surface I can access this.  Jump up the exit - oh, its the spawn portal...

Is there a way to prevent this from happening, or a way to reconnect that exit to a different entrance?

here's a method by Jazzy, it involves console commands though. Insight can show you the cave entrace/exit's ID, so you can do it in a more efficient way if you want to.

Beautiful that is exactly what I needed.  It sucks that it happens, but with this I can at least fix it lol

I wonder why it happens tho?  Anyway, thx a bunch for linking me to that - and thx Jazzy Games, they're a great channel for DST content.

It happens because there are more cave exits than there are cave enterances. This occurs most commonly when using mods that removes certain biomes or size changes to the over world compared to the caves.

I encounter this frequently because I tend to remove redundant over world biomes from ever appearing so I have a simple concise map (since I play SP).

Ah, makes sense actually.  I should probably ditch the map mods and just run a console command to ensure I have enough xyz resources to consider the world worth playing.  I saw Jazzy Games do that on one of their runs, seemed like a decent option (Why is @JazzyGames so cool? idk but +1 to them <3 )
