Noticing similarities.

Recommended Posts

This could be a stretch but I'm not sure I've seen anyone talk about it.
So we all know wagstaffs is, at the very least is confirmed/heavily implied to have been the reason behind the rift that brought the powder Monkeys to dst, and on some level the rifts bringing forth the new gestalts and importantly the deadly brightshades. Both of which do not at all feel native to Don't Starve together world.

And to me, they feel more like lunar variants of things torn from the single player dlcs.

Because I can't shake the similarities between the deadly bright-shades, And the many jungle plants of Hamlet. (Specifically the husks being very similar to nettles, and nettle rolls, and many, many hostile flora calling those plateaus home.)

Or the Pirate Powder monkeys, and the Apes and general swashbuckling of Shipwrecked.

Of course the Main thing though that draws my mind to a connection, is Wagstaffs introduction in Hamlet itself, and his nature as a projection, there's no doubt in my mind that Wagstaff is by no means limited to the area of Dst, and if that's the case, why not experiment on those other locals as well?

Do I think this is exactly true? Probably not, but its something that i can't stop thinking about.

Do I think what is true exactly? That there are design similarities between different projects within the Don't Starve franchise?

If that's the question, I would say probably yes.

Is it really true that you can't stop thinking about this? I think we could go for a ride to get some Milkshakes or Ice Cream, maybe it'll take your mind off this for a bit. If you drive, I'll buy the Milkshakes.
