Can someone help me with a little problem?

I Bought DST downloaded it , started it and a pop up asked me if i want to enable controller controls me not thinking to much accepted to enable them .Problem is that the game doesn't register any inputs from the controller and when i went into the settings to change to mouse and keyboard the game automatically changed them back to controller and it wont save any changes due to the controller's inputs not being registered.Maybe its  a problem with it being a 3rd party ps3 controller don't know why its making this problem works fine on other games.Thanks.

Are you playing on Steam? Have you checked the controller settings within steam?

I m playing on steam and i did check the controller settings i tried every one of them but nothing.

Already tried that but it still doesn't  let me change to mouse and keyboard.
