Malfario
Start by saying that i love that now armors have boost and side effects, that makes it so the dmg reduction is not the only thing to take into account which will finally open the doors for new gear that can co-exist with thulecite and night armor. That being said the benefit of the armor is not strong enough, first by saying that you need both pieces to trigger said effect that only aplys to one weapon in the game, this mean that in orther to get a dmg boost almost unnoticeable, you need to sacrifice: -extra inventory slots -seasonal/rain protection. -Magys -Celestial crown -more than 80% dmg resistance -equipable light -etc and yes it can be argue that many of this perks can be simultaniously obtained by just placing a dwarf start but still the point remains, the use of the armor its extremly restrictive and even worst is that ironically, bone armor and celestial crown give a bigger dps upgrade, not having the animation interrupted by doging or getting hit plus a flat +42 dmg per hit landed on an enemy makes an ifinite more powerfull combo than this armor. I understand than its perks have to be both balance for early game and end game and that this armor is not intended to be an upgrade to pre existing gear but still by the way challenges in this game are designed i think its worth asking for a more flexible use of the armor. My proposal being as follows: -Brightshade helmet: make the porpuse of this item specifically buff brightshade gear, make it so weapons with plannar dmg deals more dmg, than the staff projectile bounces more times, that the bombs explosions get a bigger range etc. Aditionally i think its worth asking for enviromental protection from moon related stuff, for example been able to see on the moonstorms or protection from ghastals or the sleep gas from the gheisers. -Brightshade chestplate: make the porpuse of this armor give a brightshade bonus to other weapons, let it be for example give a extra +15 plannar dmg to any weapon the player is using and most importantly make it so if the player wears the chestplate the dmg modifiyer of the character affects plannar dmg. Lore wise it could be like the armor chanelling the force of the player thro the other plane affecting this otherwordly damage. this changes alone let the player mix the different pieces of the armor with amulets, bakcpack hats etc getting a substantial buff while still encoruging using both pieces at the same time. But anyway thanks for reading and hope you have a wonderfull day Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/147338-the-buff-given-by-the-new-armor-is-not-strong-enough/ Share on other sites
GodIess
this effect lasts for 3 weapon. Sword, shovel, hammer. And this is quite logical. And I don't see the point in doing anything else. The only thing I agree with is the protection against sleep and lunar storms. The helmet really looks like it can protect against one thing or another. Armor has always been something of a secondary and cost less, but I think adding knockback damage to it would be a smart idea given that it looks pretty prickly. I'm making a modification and even if Klei doesn't add this option, PC players will have a way out Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/147338-the-buff-given-by-the-new-armor-is-not-strong-enough/#findComment-1631518 Share on other sites
