Wormwood can't fertilize

I know this has been fixed from an update way back, but this happened to me just recently while playing in a friend's world. 

 

So basically, after i wear a hat, the character breaks making wormwood unable to fertilize itself making him unplayable, even after a server restart or a rollback. We tried making a new world again. I went to find a manure just to see if it fixed it and it did until I found a beekeeper hat. I wore it, tried fertilizing again,  doesn't work. Tried unequipping the hat but nothing happened.

 

I haven't tried it on different servers yet but the character can fertilize just fine on my saves with or without a hat on. I really love the character so much. If anyone has a workaround fix for this please do let me know. We were already on our second cycle and we had to abandon it for that reason.

You didnt say anything about mods, just in case, I will advice the basic, try disabling all mods, if the bug persists, report on bug tracker.

If there is no problem without mods, try again activating one mod per time, then when you find which mod does the bug, let the creator know the bug exists.

Oh sorry i forgot. There were no mods. We're kinda new to the game so we didn't use any nor in my singleplayer worlds.

Does this only happen with the beekeeper hat or any other headwear?

If you are playing on steam your friend should verify their game files

(In your library right click dst > properties> local files > verify integrity of game files

Well it first started when i wore the gardening hat. I took it off, tried fertilizing but still couldn't so i thought it was because it's summer so i kept playing until winter when i still couldnt fertilize. 

 

My friend made a new world. I straight up went to find a manure to see if i can fertilize, i can. I have never worn any hats that time. Then i found a beekeeper's hat and i equipped it. After that i couldn't fertilize again. I also tried wearing wigfrid's helm but still didn't work so i guess it applies to any headwear.

My friend's currently on vacation but i'll tell him once he's back. Thank you.

 

Edit: i have noticed something on his animation when fertilizing. He pulls out the fertilizer but he doesnt apply it on his body.
