Edit: How did you make a pillar out of fireflies? Did you use the "sit on everything" mod?

I don't use any server mod.

The building process is quite complicated, but I'll try to explain.

Suppose you want to place the firefly pillar right at the center. From the center, place an End Table 2m upward.

image.jpeg.7ad57689b1bbd5622f3c85d3d32dd6df.jpeg

Then place another End Table 2m toward the bottom-left.

image.jpeg.8beb29cc400028010371fa313d962e0b.jpeg

Prepare a backpack containing amulets, fireflies, a hammer, and the materials to craft a Piggyback.

image.jpeg.2627e2edf960fa2bc7d58d6010131d1e.jpeg

Place the last End Table 2m toward the bottom-right.

image.jpeg.e543fcc21480cb781c993ac2a374904b.jpeg

Drop the Backpack, then craft a Piggyback, stash the Fireflies and the Hammer in it, drop the Piggyback, then set everything on fire.

image.jpeg.3e518f2558e79a377fcb9ff803974163.jpeg

Craft a Bee Queen Figure or a Rook Figure and place it between the two End Tables, as close as possible.

image.jpeg.aef9046647ceb289c9212a20eb2bb146.jpeg

Turn yourself into a ghost, then use an amulet to revive, you should now be standing on the three End Tables. Carry the Bee Queen Figure and drop it under your feet. Then pick everything up and drop it on top of the Bee Queen Figure. Use the hammer to destroy the table around you.

image.jpeg.23822940327b1f5b1cfc68bdc9dbb412.jpeg

Find a Knobbly Tree Nut and drop it beside the Bee Queen Figure.

image.jpeg.eda950fe3db6ebb1cefb4c51033881d1.jpeg

Turn yourself into a ghost again, then revive on top of the Bee Queen Figure and use a Hammer to smash it.

Take the fireflies out of the Piggyback, then carry the Knobbly Tree Nut and drop it at your feet.

Hey, did you use the command beforehand to bring back the collision of structures and items, or did Klei revert their change from last update? I ask cus I have seen some items flying recently in my world which shouldn't happen unless they have collision. So are we back in game?

Have you tried to replicate this after they patched the Z-axis building technique in one of the recent updates? Supposedly the 3d building was ruined by that patch but I heard they added a command to preserve existing builds that used this technique. How does it all work now and is there a way to make it work in my world? This firefly pillar looks amazing and I would like to attempt it as well in my world.

Some close-ups and details of the build. I think the embalming spritz is my new favourite tool. Although I wish you could use it on flowers so you’re only able to dig them up because I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve accidentally picked decorative flowers when I haven’t meant to!

The way you decorated the roads is so pretty, simple but effective! 💕 Bet it’s functional for the hounds and random mobs with the tooth traps too.

How do you get the lamps to be such  vibrant colours? I swear when I do it in vanilla the colours and hues are pretty weak.

You also make them so smooth, but I assume that's just via shifting the colours slightly with each lamp?

Fortunately there is a flat coastline near CelestialPortal, so I can place Pearl here.

I'm not one hundred percent sure. However, in addition to EnlightenedShard, you need to fill the Glowcap to maximize its brightness. Also, the edge brightness of Glowcap is a bit dimmer than that of Mushlight. If you want to enhance its effect, you can place them closer. And adjusting the color of each Glowcap one by one can make the color transitions smooth.

I wonder if this fits your description.

Yes, I put Enlightened Shards into the lamps in different color combinations. For example, the first lamp has 4 red, the next has 3 red and 1 green, the next has 2 red and 2 green, and so on.

The broken down / overgrown aesthetic is great. Love the paths and especially the fence items on the ground as a "broken fence" great touches.

The tiles are from a mod called "not enough turfs", which mainly adds the turfs from Hamlet and Shipwrecked. There are a few more (like different carpet colours, and rift crafter turf), but mostly I would still consider those vanilla turfs, since it's just from the DLCs.

I'm pretty sure the vibrant colours you were talking about, are from a mod called "color adjustments". I use that aswell, and it just makes the game look much more pretty (especially in summer) and even gets rid of moggle vision, nightmare vision, and even tones down lunacy vision quite a bit. Would recommend. ❤️

I'll probably do a full tour of this world at some point. I just need to get motivated to learn how to edit videos...

Up to this point I have decorated a quarter of the world.
