This is a new Fan-Fiction story I am working on, Enjoy!

Chapter 1

Werm began to open his eyes, the first thing the baby merm saw wasn't a mother and father, everything was loud, there were screams in the air, constant gurgles and groans filling the marsh, Werm was wrapped in a small cradle made of twigs and reeds. Werm began to cry in all these sounds going through the large marsh, the rundown houses began catching fire, frog legs, fish, meat, and pig skin covered the floor of the rundown village. Pigs were swarming from left and right, killing all citizens of the rundown village in sight. A pig began charging at the cradle, tipping it over. Little baby Werm then took cover under a nearby board that is holding up a rundown house. The baby merm watched as a man walked through the burning village, a staff with a red gem at the top in hand, and the man's hair was like devil horns. He was being followed by a chest-like animal. The man grabbed out a powder from the chest-like animal's mouth, and placed it down. He lit the powder with his staff, and then there was an explosion.

Ultimate chaos erupted for about 5 minutes, but then everything went silent. Nearly all the houses were burnt down, there were no merms in sight, there was no sound at all, it was a big change from what was just happening. The pigs then danced in glee, celebrating their victory. The devil-hair man then begins collecting the remains of the village, grabbing all the fish and frog legs he could find, even grabbing the skin of his dead helpers. The man then notices the baby merm, cowering in fear. The man then pulls out a weapon that looks like the tip of a tentacle, and begins to approach the baby merm, getting ready to strike at any moment. The man was about to end the baby's life, but then the man realized that it was gertting close to dawn, the devil-haired man then wandered off, and the pig army followed. The baby then crawled down a trail in the swamp, not knowing anything about the whole wide world, not being tought anything. The baby doesn't know what dangers lurk at night, the baby didn't know, it's not safe without a light at night.

Chapter 2

The baby wandered for several minutes, then the sky began to get dark, every living creature in the swamp went into hiding, every creature besides the baby merm. The slight dimness of night then began to grow darker, and darker, until it is pitch black. The baby merm then stopped in it's tracks, and began to cry, it cried loudly, waking every creature up in the marshlands, a dark breathing then began to commence. The breathing got louder and louder, it was getting closer to the merm infant, a grue attacks everything that is afraid of the dark, and leaves the brave ones alone, the baby wasn't brave, it was crying it's eyes out. The breathing then stopped, the grue then examined the baby merm, it didn't look filling, but it looked delicious, the grue lunged at the baby, it threw the baby in the air, hoping for it to land in it's mouth, but the baby hit it's snout and rolled down it's long, scaly back. The baby began laughing, like the grue was some sort of amusement park ride. The grue then turned, charging at the baby, it kicked the baby far across the large marsh, having the baby land in a tall, spiky tree. The grue tried reaching for the infant, but the infant was on top of the highest branch, and this grue was slightly smaller then most grues. The grue gave up on the appetizer and wandered off, hoping to gobble on some gobblers. The baby laid on the branch until dawn, giggling, thinking everything was fine and dandy.

At a nearby pond. Two frogs came out. They hopped around a bit, eating mosquitoes from another nearby pond. The frogs then saw the baby merm on the branches of the spiky tree. They then hopped on other branches of the spiky tree, trying to bend the tree so the baby can safely get off the top branch. The frogs succeeded in their plan and the baby merm crawled off the branch. It wandered into a nearby forest biome, looking at the many tall trees, towering above the infant. The baby then stumbled on to a lone pig house. The merm baby then knocked on the door, wondering what was inside. A pig named Eggbert then came out of the house, wondering what was knocking on the pig's door. Eggbert then looked down and saw a little baby merm on the ground, wiggling around. The pig knew that merms were very territorial, but this was just an infant, with no one to take care of it. The pig then scooped up the little merm baby, and went inside the house, shutting the door.

Chapter 3

Years Later...

Werm walked outside of the Pig House. He breathed in the summer air, bees were buzzing, and the berry bushes were growing. Werm went over to the bushes and carefully picked them for dinner, Werm always made sure no gobblers were in the farm, if there were, Werm had a supply of blow darts in his backpack. Werm fixed the collar on his vest and laid down on the grass, enjoying the amazing sky, he loved how the clouds swirled, he felt bad for anyone who couldn't see it. Werm then saw something in the corner of his eye, it was a silhoutte circle with bug-like legs. Werm grabbed his blow dart and investigated around the pig house. As Werm walked, he heard rustling and crawling going through the forest. Then, with no warning, something popped up in Werm's sight of vision. Werm fell to the ground and blew a hound's tooth out of his blow dart, It nearly hit the creature. "Watch where you're shooting that thing!" the creature yelled. It was Werm's friend, Spidina, hanging from a web attached to a nearby evergreen. Spidina then swayed on the web like a swing and leaped onto the top of the evergreen. "What'cha doing?" Spidina asked. Spidina then noticed all the berries in Werm's hand. "Eggbert making you harvest again?" Spidina asked, Werm nodded. "Don't you ever do anything you want to do?" Spidina asked. "Whenever I visit, your always picking berries, or fertilizing farms, do you do anything besides that?" Spidina sighed. Werm then picked a nearby patch of grass. Spidina shook her head and leaped on the ground. "Can I come over?" Spidina asked, Werm nodded and they both went into the Pig House.

Eggbert was cooking some Meaty Stew. "Hello Werm, finished picking berrie-" Eggbert stopped speaking as he saw Spidina sitting on the wooden flooring. "H-hello Spidina." Eggbert said, suprised of the spider being in his house. "Can I speak to you for a minute Werm?" Werm walked over to Eggbert. "Why is she here?" Eggbert questioned. "I said no guests when it's nearing full moon!" Werm then slumped his arms in a fit. "Go tell her to leave now!" Werm then walked over to Spidina and pointed to the door, sad that Spidina couldn't say. Spidina walked out the door and looked angrily at Eggbert, hissing quietly to herself. Werm sat down on a stool, crossing his arms, having a fit. Eggbert walked over to Werm. "It's so she can be safe." Eggbert told Werm. "Gurgle!" (I've been fine these years, she can too!) Werm argued. "She will probably be scared of me and never visit again!" Eggbert thought he had won the arguement, but then Werm speaks. "Gurgle!" (She knows a lot about genetics and she knows about the Werepig Transformation!) Eggbert and Werm kept arguing and arguing until it went to dusk. "Go to your straw roll!" Eggbert yelled. Werm, still having a fit, slumped down on the straw roll and went to sleep. Eggbert watched Werm while he slept and sighed. Eggbert then headed upstairs to rest as well.

Werm then woke up in the middle of the night, hearing a knock on the window. He then sees the silhouette of Spidina. "Hey, come outside!" She beckoned.

Chapter 4

Werm got up from his straw roll, stretching his fish body. Werm carefully walks over to the door and opens it. "Hey Werm, I just saw the coolest thing ever!" Spidina said, she sounded excited. Werm didn't know what was so exciting in the dark, Werm was always afraid of the dark, ever since he was a child. Werm then grabs a nearby torch in the house, and walks outside, following Spidina, they were on some sort of trail. "We're getting close!" Spidina then began to go faster, she was so excited, while Werm was plump tired, his eyes were drooping. but they opened wide at what he saw.

It was a machine, it was huge! There were buttons and and lights everywhere, the machine looked like it was some sort of portal. There was a ring at the top. Spidina crawled up the ring. "Look what it does!" Spidina began tapping on the machine, it then began to open, inside was some sort of red core, Werm stepped back a bit. The ring began to turn, so Spidina landed on the ground. The machine began playing a tune. "It's like an over-sized record player!" Spidina began dancing around the machine, humming the tune that was coming from the machine. Werm realized the torch was going out, so Werm made a campfire so he could see the machine more clearly, once Werm lights the fire, he noticed something on the ground, it looked slightly humanoid, but it didn't have arms. It looked like it had one eye, Werm heard the tales of the Deerclops, but he thought the behemoth was bigger, and that it would have arms. He then noticed the top of the creature was a light-bulb, Werm began to see more mechanical parts of this robotic... thing. Werm grabbed a nearby stick and began poking the robot. The light-bulb on the robot then turned on.

Werm then fell backwards, the robot then hopped up, it looked aggressive. It began to shoot at Spidina, "Ack!" Spidina is blasted into a tree. Werm grabs the remains of his torch and throws it at the robot. It begins to chase the friendly merm. Spidina gets up and shoots webbing at the robot, sticking it to the grass. Werm grabs a sharp twig from a nearby sapling and walks over to the stuck robot. It begins zapping electricity from its eye all around itself. Werm then stabs the stick through the robot's light-bulb head. The robot then shorts out. Werm grabs the robot's eye, noticing it is some sort of purple gem. Spidina high-five each other. "Wow, we're epic as a team!" they both smiled, but Werm's smile went to a frown as he noticed he wasn't putting fuel into the fire, the fire then goes out.

Chapter 5

Werm then began to get terrified, he heard noises coming from inside the darkness drawing in. The machine didn't provide any light whatsoever, even though a light-bulb is a part of it. A Grue then picks up the scent of fear nearby, it begins to grin, it's time for a midnight snack. The Grue rustles through all the trees and bushes, going at top speed. It then began to hover around Werm, realizing this is the baby merm he tried to get before, grinning again because he's about to capture the only prey that ever escaped from him in the darkness.

Werm felt breathing on his neck, he shrieked as he felt a sharp pain on his back. Spidina looked around with her spider-vision, she saw a snake-like beast chasing Werm around, she knew it was a grue. Spidina tried sticking it to the ground with silk, but it teared right through the silk. Werm ran down the trail that Spidina followed, but the grue was too fast, it caught Werm in it's jaw, it slithered away, going to it's grue den. Spidina began to panic. Grues usually eat their meals where they are, something was up. Spidina quickly scurried to Eggbert's house. Eggbert was investigating the house, checking where Werm was, he noticed Spidina running towards him. "Eggbert! Werm's in trouble!"

Chapter 6

Werm was paralyzed in fear as the grue took him to his den, what was happening? Why can't this just end? Spidina and Eggbert were far behind, running after the grue. The grue manages to get to his den, and places Eggbert in a bowl-shaped crevice inside the den, what was going on? Is he making a grue soup or something? The grue then leaves the den in a rush, probably looking for more food to put in the crevice.

Spidina notices something coming towards them! Spidina quickly dodges, but the grue grabs Eggbert! It goes back to it's den, now Spidina needs to get there faster, she doesn't know what's going on, but it's not good.

The grue drops Eggbert in the crevice, and goes back for the spider. Eggbert gets up and goes towards Werm and hugs him. "Wha- what happened?" Eggbert said. He let go of his hug and it began to turn into anger. "Why did you leave the house! You never did that before!" Werm knows the point he's getting to. "No, that spider can't come here anymore! She's a bad influence!" Werm gets up in anger. " I.... FREE.... TO..... DO....I....WANT! I.... OLD ENUF...." Werm never spoke before, merms always had a hard time speaking, so merm culture gave up on speech, he was the first merm ever to speak. "You.... you can talk!" Eggbert goes over and hugs Werm, he was now proud instead of angry.

Spidina was then dropped into the crevice. "Hey guys... Wassap?" Spidina tried crawling out of the bowl crevice, but fails miserably. Eggbert then began talking with Spidina. As this happened, Werm looked around, he didn't notice this before, there were oval-shaped rocks. After looking at them closer, Werm began to shake in fear. Merm shushed the others and stood still, the others realized what was happening. The grue was above them, smiling, as it's babies get it's first meal.

The rocks began to shake, and crack. Werm's face turned pale, the rocks cracked open, they looked like a combination of a snake and a slug. They already had teeth, one lunged at Eggbert's chest, he screamed bloody murder, his chest had a red gash, the creature began to gobble on the pig skin he tore off. Eggbert laid down in pain. Werm noticed a skeleton nearby, it had a spear near it. Werm went over and grabbed the spear. He stabbed one of the babies in the eye, it screeched, it squirmed around on the floor for a while, until it began so slow it's movement, and freeze, like it turned to stone. The Mother Grue screeched by this and slammed its hand into the arena, trying to hit Werm. It's hand got stuck in a crack inside the crevice. Werm grabbed Spidina and Eggbert and crawled up the grue's arm. It hissed and threw everyone out of the den, and everyone hits a tree. The grue charges at then, but then it noticed the sun rising, it hissed and went to it's den. Werm and Eggbert went to their home. "Your never leaving this house, again." Eggbert said, Werm frowned and said goodbye to Spidina. She hissed at Eggbert and wandered off.

After a while, it began to turn to night again, Werm was sleeping soundly, when he heard a knock on the window. Werm knew who it was and opened the door. "Werm, I have a great idea!" Spidina said. Werm didn't really want to hear it, he didn't want to get in trouble again. "Let's run away!" Werm was surprised by what Spidina said! Run away? Werm began to think, Eggbert cared for him all these years, but Spidina was his friend. "We work so well as a team! Remember that robotic deerclops?" Werm talked about the grue. "That was an accident, we can take care of our fire better." Spidina waited for Werm to make a decision. Werm decided, he began to walk out with Spidina. Eggbert woke up to the sound of the door opening. The door then shut, Eggbert ran towards the door, but it was budged! He noticed sticky webbing around the door. Eggbert looked out the window and saw Werm leaving. Eggbert then began to shed tears.

Chapter 7

Werm then followed Spidina, she was happy that Werm was going to stay over where she lived. Spidina arrived at her den, it was a tier 1 spider den, but unlike the others, it was slightly pink. Werm looked around for Spidina's parents, but no other spider was in sight. "I live alone, I was abandoned when I was five..." Spidina looked depressed for a second, but then it turned back into a smile. "But, the good thing is that I didn't have to follow any rules! I was free to do what I wanted, and now you can too!" Spidina pointed at Werm, he didn't seem too happy, he was looking at a locket that Eggbert gave him, memories began to flow through his mind.

"Happy birthday, Werm!" said Eggbert, he was wearing a party hat. Werm, as a child, clapped with glee. "Open the present!" Eggbert beckoned. Without hesitation, Werm tore off the wrapping and opened the box inside, it was a heart-shaped locket, Werm opened it and inside was a picture of Eggbert and Werm together. Werm then hugged Eggbert.

Spidina then grabbed the locket and threw it in a nearby pond. "We don't need any memories where we're going! We're starting our lives over again, with no rules whatsoever!" Spidina crawled inside her den and began to sleep. "Werm, I made you a straw roll outside the den, on the webbing." Spidina pointed out. Werm then crawled on his Straw Roll, and looked over at the pond, after a while, Werm managed to go to sleep.

Werm woke up in the morning, tired, he looked over at Spidina's Den, he saw her tearing it apart. "We need to move, I realized the den is too close to Eggbert's house." Spidina took out the webbing on the ground. Werm yawned and rubbed his eyes. "Okay, I'm done tearing the den down, let's go!" Spidina crawled through the trees of the forest, Werm hated all this travelling. In this part of the forest, the trees seemed taller, the leaves were more broad and lumpy, it was like a whole new world. Werm saw a nearby rabbit, trying to pull out a carrot from the ground. Werm then saw some plains ahead, the grass looked yellow and dead, Werm then saw huge animals inside the plains.

Werm looked closer at the animals, they stood on all fours, had hooves, and had large horns. They were eating some tall grass in the plains. They noticed Werm and Spidina's presence and became cautious. "These things are huge!" Spidina ran towards the animal, and began to investigate it. "I have an idea!" Spidina crawled on top of one of the animals. "Get on!" Werm then went on the animal Spidina was on. Spidina then turned some grass she collected into some rope, and whipped the animal's rear. It sprung up and began running, it ran in random directions of the biome, it ran around, like some sort of amusement park ride. Spidina then raised her hind-legs up and cheered, Werm was having fun too, he raised his hands up like Spidina was, he felt the wind pressing against his fishy body. "Put your arms down, those fish pits stink!" Spidina held her nose. Embarrassed, Werm put his arms down. They were having fun for a few minutes, until they saw a nearby animal scream in agony. The animal they were riding stopped and threw off Spidina and Werm, and headed towards the crying animal. Spidina and Werm began to investigate, and Werm recognized who was hurting the animal, memories began to flash, Werm looked closer to make sure it was him, and it was, it was the man with the devil-hair.
